Because the days of a sugar daddy spraying cash around are long gone. The club has to deliver improved income as a club to enable us to afford to pay players their going rate, under all the new rules.
Not disputing that at all Roydo.
But if TV money and player sales are solving debt repayments and player purchases we could have (could have...) stayed in the hands of Bill and Bob, basically anyone who isn't looking to strip Everton down. Crippling payments to shady third parties who are currently otherwise engaged siphoned off most of it. Essentially, if we are only using the club's money - and we'll be taking on massive debt for the stadium, no one disputes this - anybody could have taken us over.
If these two are to blame for the previous mess, why are they still here? Why has Keith Harris joined the Board?
Farhad Moshiri is not taking us to the next level. He's essentially just stopped money vanishing off into a mysterious ether, and we can at least applaud him for that.
