Wild card is great and awful in one measure. Straight knockout is rare in baseball and I hadn't looked forward to a game like that for years.

Can't see us doing Houston but you never know. A lot depends on our pitching - will need to be on top form to match you guys. They certainly have it in them but a combination of dodgy form and riding luck doesn't make me confident. The one thing we have going for us is there's no pressure and you can tell they are enjoying the ride.

7pm UK time start tomorrow. I think almost must win for the Rays if we are to have a chance.

Not even close to being a competitive game. Verlander is a bit good though.

Can see this being 3-0 from here unless Snell has a worldie tomorrow.

Pleasant surprise and great fun to see this team hanging on in. Charlie freakin Morton again.

Nice to have early evening games back to back for us in the UK as well.

Interesting to see who the Astros have pitching tomorrow - go big and finish it off?

Shouldn’t have pitched on 3 days rest in a non-elimination game.
Now I’m off to make a sacrifice to the baseball gods
You'll have it in Houston. Like watching 2 different teams compared to the first 2 games.

I have a spot spot for the Astros - there's a bunch of people from Houston that travel over and run a baseball camp in Lichfield every summer. My kids love it. Still hope we do you, mind!

I’m just hope that the series holds form with the home team winning. I just don’t like the decision to pitch Verlander on 3 days rest this early in the post-season. If it was a elimination game or in the World Series, I’d feel a bit more comfortable with it.

It was a logical move, just didn't work out as intended.

Most would have JV on 3 days' rest going against Tampa at their yard v. an untested rookie (Urquidy). If the Astros won, then Cole starts GM1 v the Yankees with 2 days of extra rest and either JV on 5 days rest or Greinke with JV to follow in NY. Even so, should Cole win tomorrow the Astros are still set up to throw JV and Cole each 2x v the Yankees should they win their starts (and we lose all the other starts).

I'm off to Houston tomorrow to yell my lungs out at the yard.

Bring it on! Rays have nothing to lose so I can see Snell and Morton in the bullpen tomorrow.

For me it all comes down to whether Cole can keep it tight for the first couple of innings. If the Rays get a few hits, confidence will keep them rolling; keep them quiet and they'll be psychologically done.

Early night tonight - worse than jetlag the past week. Insanely jealous that you're there though.
