My guess - some sort of staged disappearance similar to the canoe guy. Or she’s somehow fallen in to the river.

I do agree though that something seems incongruent in the info released. I think the police are holding something significant back from the public domain as part of the investigation strategy.

Agree - Something doesn’t quite fit. But would a mum leave her kids behind if she decided to fake her own death?

If she was out walking the dog during the meeting I imagine she would have had her camera turned off. And if she wasn't particularly active in the meeting she will likely have been on mute lots and not suddenly stopped responding.

Does happen, tragically. Strained relationship with husband, or influenced by another love interest. These emotions can cause the most unpredictable reactions in people.

Yeah fair. I just can't see how the police would refuse to frame the investigation as a kidnapping though given the time since disappearance and depth of searching that has already taken place, unless they had specific evidence to discount it as a hypothesis. The area hasn't been sealed off, and the bench where her phone was found has been left in place, when it could have been removed to preserve any forensic evidence.

The man has done this many times before. He’s not a TV presenter, he’s a professional at what he does which is why the police employ him and his team. He may not display empathy, but he knows his job and that’s what the family needs…..

What on earth are you talking about, he's making use of media outlets to specifically reach out to the family so he can help. The very opposite of "ignoring idea its someone's wife and mum". And they gladly accepted, he's there now.

That's my thoughts as a regular zoom user, weak contributor to meetings and amatuer sleuth.

But he's coming across pretty ignorant there - like I've seen this river on the telly, so here's my deep take on the situation. Hopefully he is not the whopper he appears and can actually contribute something.

I believe his outfit are the only ones in the country with the sonar based scanner. It's more accurate and quicker than just divers alone which is what they were already working with. If they can rule out the river then the police can focus the efforts of the investigation elsewhere, and perhaps start treating this as something more malign.

It's nowhere near as helpful as armchair character assessments of rescue volunteers on an internet forum of course, but it's something at least.
