Current Affairs Missing woman in Lancashire

I thought I heard the police woman say she went out wearing a Fitbit, wouldn't that still be working because they are water resistant aren't they like a watch say.

My guess - some sort of staged disappearance similar to the canoe guy. Or she’s somehow fallen in to the river.

I do agree though that something seems incongruent in the info released. I think the police are holding something significant back from the public domain as part of the investigation strategy.
Of course they are, but equally their instance that their belief she fell into the river should be taken at face value because their line of enquiry suggests so.

She was on a conference call, yet rightly not of what has been said etc. has been disclosed. Did she speak? What was her emotional behaviour during the call?

There's been numerous accounts of the dog harness not being on, but again the police have not confirmed this.

They've reported that they're examining the data from it.

Apparently her fitbit hadn't sync'd with her phone since the Tuesday before she disappeared.

Police know full well what has happened. Drip feeding the media, most of which will be total 8ollocks in the hope of a slip up. Sadly people want instant results and aren't prepared to wait nowadays.
If saying she's in the river was a red herring from the OB, surely they wouldn't allow the bloke with the sonar equipment and also the Nicola's family to suggest she's not in the river. That goes against what they've said and doesn't help with what they are trying to achieve.

If she was taken, you expect there to be a manhunt by now, as is usual practice from the OB playbook.

I’m sure he’s helpful in his own way but he’s loving the opportunity to promote his brand but also critique all parts of the investigation, most of which I’d suggest are nowhere near his purview.

The guy is a specialist and knows what he’s doing. If he says she didn’t go in the water then the Police should listen. He’s been dragged into the media limelight because the Police keep insisting she’s in the water. Police are exceptionally good at a great many things, forensics etc, but let’s be honest they don’t trawl waters for bodies every day of the week, while this guy and his experienced team do on behalf of Police forces all around the country. His team have state of the art equipment and have done this often enough to be listened to……

I don’t know enough about this to have an opinion to be honest . I do know I read repeatedly years ago it was impossible that girl Joanne lees had escaped the way she’d described when her boyfriend Peter falcone or falconio was killed , it transpired much later she was right . I know there was no was Corrie mckeauge death was an accident and the police were completely wrong , in the end it was tragic but it was banal .

I’m just saying that there are almost certainly reasons they’re adamant on this theory and they almost certainly wouldn’t share them with him . The bloke is probably brilliant at his job but criticism of how the police dealt with the golden hour , failure to follow other leads and not taping of the area and erecting ‘a forensic tent ‘ are all well away from his wheelhouse .

I honestly don’t know if he’s right , he might well be and let’s face it it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the plod have messed up is it ? I mean it wouldn’t exactly be the first time . However until there is evidence to the contrary I’m sort of leaning that they’ll know more than anyone but regardless staying in his lane would be best for everyone surely ?

Starting to think she's alive but done a runner. She's not in the river, the current wasn't strong enough to wash any body out to sea, no witnesses saw or heard anything, the dog was completely calm and the phone was purposely left on the bench (hadn't been dropped).

Really getting Shannon Mathews vibes with this, though I do hope I'm wrong. Those poor, poor kids.

The amount of pressers he has done / interviews with GB news etc is a bit obscene when he isn’t part of the investigation. He is going to look like a right idiot if they do find her in the river at some point.

The amount of far out ‘theories’ put out there by people is so odd, everyone thinks they are playing detective - blaming her partner, banging on about abandoned houses etc.

Agree, it’s obvious they don’t have a clue what’s happened.

I think that's the absolute 'best' case possible scenario, I hope you're right.
