Current Affairs Missing woman in Lancashire

Sad sad story, not helped by the Twitterati, aided by hours of binging Netflix murder documentaries, being convinced her poor husband had something to do with it because he let out a nervy smile while talking to the press and that the police are covering it by claiming she fell in as there’s absolutely no way the dog wouldn’t have gone in after her
I hate this. The ‘just curious’ crew. Then no apology or anything after days of casting aspersions on an innocent person and casually move onto the next ‘mystery’

There's no suspect. No crime is even being alleged.

He’s not saying that.

in cases such as this, it’s a statistical fact, that the husband / partner has something to do with it, when their other half goes missing.

Which is why they always look at them first.

It’s obviously not the case for in this one, but it’s standard police procedure.

With the information that’s available at the moment (limited), it looks like she has gone into the water. Given her phone was on the bench. It’s plausible to assume she’s dropped something into the water and gone in to retrieve it, and left her phone on the bench to stop it getting wet. The strong current has then taken her down the river.

The bench where her phone was found has been left in situ. If there was any doubt whatsoever that the police had if she came to harm by someone else, then that bench would have been removed for a forensic analysis. There must be a reason known to the police that she left that bench of her own choice, but it is not being made public.

Any detail regarding this work call has not been released. It seems odd that it was her last known contact with anybody, yet no detail at all is being disclosed. I can't see any other reason how the police could rule out a third party actor, other than what happened on that call. But they clearly are.

It’s all very weird. My initial thought was that the police have an idea what has happened, that a third party is involved, but that they don’t want to give the game away to the third party. Unfortunately I believe the poor woman is dead whatever the real story…….

I live near to this village, was playing golf yesterday morning at my local golf club in Poulton-Le-Fylde, the helicopters were still out yesterday morning searching near the river Wyre which runs out to the sea. Suggesting she’s probably been swept out to sea by now.

I think she has left phone on bench while meeting has been going on because she went to see to the dog, slipped, banged her head and fell in.

The police will need to find her body though because her family will need to know.

Has anyone seen the underwater forensic expert guy doing the rounds on the news? He's saying it's very unlikely she is in the river, otherwise she would have been found by now. He's says in rivers like this, usually a body doesn't travel far. The current's just aren't that strong unless it floods.

It’s disgusting imo. Bunch of absolute dweebs coming up with all sorts on the internet when her family must be going through all sorts. Saw some video on social media today where that bench has literally turned into a tourist trap.

I know someone who lost a family member in a high profile murder case many years before social media. Can only imagine how the pain would be exasperated by internet sleuths querying the mannerisms of the parents etc. People are completely detached from the reality.
