Ex Everton player, would fit in well to our set up and we have a vacancy . Name Unsworth as manager for the rest of the season and bring in Arteta as U23s manager.

Think guardiola will have possibly known him from way back when arteta was at the barca academy as a kid. Interesting that he went really heavily after getting him to come city though, word is he's very clued up coaching wise

You are right that Pep wouldn't have pursued in such a way had he not had ability. If Unsworth gets the job full time, getting a lad who played with him a bit, and also knows the club very well and is a well respected coach would be a no brainer for me.

I don't think he's a lifelong blue through and through - I think he's potentially a great manager or coach, just because he's been to three different clubs, and now learning under Pep - he could be something in the future. Maybe a coach or something now, but it looks like he's hitched his wagon to Guardiola.

I'd like to know how close we were to being completely broke in that transfer window, tells you how useless the media are that no questions were asked. To not spend a single penny in that window, to snap up a renowned lunatic playboy in Drenthe on loan, big Denis who had allegedly failed a trial at a championship club earlier in the summer to getting basically bullied into selling Jermaine Beckford to a Championship club in Leicester shows you how broke we must have been. And then losing Mikel on deadline day...very depressing time to be a fan.

If it's any consolation I always thought he was very well presented and neatly coiffured when turning out for us. You didn't do Fellaini as well did you?

We are somewhere around top 20-25 in the world spending wise, I think. If we came calling for him, he'd definitely come.

I don't really think this would be a good idea. I'm not sure how you tiki-taka with enomorous holes on the flanks and CBs who are olds. He still needs to prove himself as a manager somewhere.
