Sharpys top lip

Player Valuation: £60m
Now with Car's gone an manny situation no clearer, Arteat an cahill having oparations. We only a few players who are fit on the book at the moment. Also cahills injury seems to flair up every time he jumps, an arteta future unclear aswell, i am a bit worry'd about the centre of the park.

Well hopfully moyes has this well sorted. An their will bean influx of midfiels player coming through the door.

I'd like to see at least 4/5 players coming in.

1.Gera would be a good free signing
2.Arshavin would be the quality play maker we need
3.Diarra would be the big strong replacement for car's but just far better(i hope)
4.Jaquime(spelling?) Would be another quality addition to the squad that would improve us no end.
5.Manny or some other play on loan???? Another one moyes could pull out the bag.

What do you think?? could we afford all this?? Does bringing so many playes in work?? We only bring 2/3 a season an that does us good. Is this the way forward??

An if we bring all these midfielders in, will their be money left for additions anywere els??

Plenty of questions, Moyes i hope you have the answers.

Fernandes, Diarra and Gera all look the most likely at the moment. I'd be very happy with all three.

Fernandes and Diarra would be an excellent partnership if we got both next season. A mixture of energy, strength, craft and quality. The closest thing Diarra is a more mobile version of Hamann. Neat and tidy, distributes well but has the pace and energy to get around the park. At 6ft 3 he has the right stature aswell.

Gera will obviously be a squad player but a very useful one.

juaquime = joaquin (y)

i think we should be able to afford them and i agree with the list...covers all weak/missing links in our midfield, and hopefully wud force neville to RB, since hibbert is out for start of season, neville will be playing RB anyway so even if moyes did want to replace carswit neville he cant so we HAVE to buy. should be a very good summer i reckon...

I know everyone says that Carsley did an under-rated job in the midfield and was vital to us, but I actually think we'll see a much more improved midfield without him next year. Him leaving will forces Moyes hand in signing a defensive midfielder with talent, as good as Cars was in the tackle, on the ball he was not of the quality needed at 5th in the premiership, so without him I can see us bringing in someone who can not only tackle but can put the ball about a bit as well.

I think its similar to when Weir left, everyone said how great a signing he had been, but by the time we had replaced him our defence is much more flashy and can take on the best in the world, I can see Davey doing this to our midfield now too.

I have read loads of Everton forums where everyone has been saying we need to buy a quality Right back.

What if moyes plan is to buy a RB, Hibbert as cover and Neville fills in permantly for Carsley.

Not a very nice thought

i thought from the start we would need about 4 midfielders in this summer, but with injury problems and Cars leaving we need at least 4/5 in. who ever we do bring in though will have to keep a balance. i always thought our side looked more balanced with Baines at LB. if we were to sign Joaquin, and kept Arteta/Pienaar on the left, it would look less balanced than if we signed Downing or Zhirkov for that position. these players (Neville, Baines, and two wingers) would get crosses into the box, this tactic may not be as successful with Yak/AJ upfront as neither is known for heading ability. would we then buy a striker who could? have runners from midfeild? or not have wingers but more central central players moved wide like Arteta/Pienaar?

I'd cry if Neville was first choice in midfield next seasom. In all honesty he should be a squad player and we should be looking to replace him but I can cope with him at right back aslong as the midfield is improved.

The Nevs for the Cars. Didnt work before though so I dont think he'll try it again.

At least we can say this. Nev & cars won't be in the same midfield again thats for sure. I'm waiting and very confident Moyes has a a-list that most people haven't a clue about yet. Which is just peachy with me. Who was talking about Diarra before yesterday? Thats what I thought. I will miss Cars but I think younger quicker stock will prove benificial.

Slightly off topic here...but did anyone see Patrick Vieira for Inter Milan yesterday? Talk about a former shadow of themselves! He stunk the place out. Now that lad Balotelli wide right could do a job for us. He'll only fetch £15M. (y)

I said that after the Inter/Liverpool game. The mans finished sadly. Such a quality player on his day.

I've seen him three times this season on Football Italia....hopeless on every occasion. His reputation is getting him a game.

Look's like the Gera stuff was bullshit as he's close to joining Benfica apparently.

Anyways id love to bring in Diarra, Arshavin, Fernandes (loan) and a winger.

Maybe Joaquin but that would be beyond my wildest dreams if we signed those 4.

No matter what the place is, people always think of flashy full backs.

Personally I think that a competent full back is the one who excels in defence.

A solid one, who can defend against any winger in the world is what we need.

Alou Diarra would be a great addition to the squad. Manny also.

Joaquin would be a dream, but can we afford him? And he's not the most consistent player in the world.

What about Lassana Diarra? Nasri? Ben Harfa? Gomis? Benzema?

There are some pretty good players, but will we have the resources to attract them?
