I’m comparing the force used by police.

Good effort though.

Thatchers facist instructions towards a picket line of people trying to feed their family is not compatible to someone doing his best oleksandr usyk impression of punching people in the face at an airport while being detained.

I think i'll bail out at this point. Enough for one day.

Do we use that excuse when Barry from Hull kicks some fellas head in outside the pub? Hes only human after all.

Do I understand the Police Officers reaction? Absolutely. Do I understand the need for self-defence? 100%. Doesn’t stop the fact what he did was wrong/illegal.

Sets a dangerous precedent if you start allowing police to break the law because someone’s “bad”.

I dont think ive ever SERIOUSLY claimed that the kick in the head wasnt wrong.

Notice the word seriously.

Opens up a can of worms going forward if he doesn’t. Shows police can get away with assault/GBH clear as day.

Ultimately juries decide on the evidence , I’ve said it’s hard to argue he shouldn’t be charged but he’ll almost certainly say he was in shock , possibly concussed after the assault. I can’t say he wasn’t can you ? Let’s see if any expert backs him up . He might say he wanted to keep him on the floor , aimed for his back but his vision was affected after the blows . Might say all kinds of things , that’s why we have juries isn’t it ?

You want him charged because you believe in the rule of law , I don’t disagree . That law gives him the presumption of innocence as well whatever opinion you or I think .

I’ve not been on here defending what’s gone on , I’m just saying things have to play themselves out now .

If he’s put Barry on his arse then stamps on his head, Steve’s off to prison regardless of what Barry did isn’t he?

We disagree on this but its good point.

Volleying someone in the head is dangerous but also landing clean dig on a woman nose is also, both could have severe consequences.

My problem is everyone is talking about what the police did and not what started the it all.
I'm in no way a fan of policing here in this country but in this case i think they were right.

The policeman and his collegues, one being a woman have just been viciously attacked, not resisting arrest, attacked!
You can wear that uniform or not it doesnt take away the human factor in all this, of course he lost his head a little, would i want him fired NO
Do i have any sympathy for the little rats NO! Give the lads prison time and the bizzy a slap on the wrist and move on.

That’s fair enough mate, that’s your opinion but the law is the law & the Armed Response have their rules regarding RoE/Self Defence, which he hasn’t followed.

Am I arsed that those two lads got a kick? Nope, I’ll sleep absolutely soundly & they’ll do jail time for what they did. Am I comfortable with the Police being judge jury & executioner because he’s been emotional? Absolutely not.

I understand his reaction 100% but there’s absolutely no chance he can be in the Armed Response Units if he’s too emotional & arguably it should now land him in jail

No chance, there are no tofu eating leafleters, or wife beaters around. Everyone has Steve's back.

There is no place for males who hit women in Steve's community. The morality of women and children first is not lost on these people.
