If anything the plod in the UK are too soft more often than not and have their hands tied behind their back with red tape.

Would like them to be given more licence to give trouble makers a good kicking. First in the que those "auditors" who hang around outside police stations and private businesses recording and trying to goad people into a reaction on camera to upload onto social media for hits.

And then, like a phoenix from the flames, a true hero arose, a shining beacon of gallantry to lead the pro plod legions into the promised land.*

You get the leaders you deserve. Shambles!

Please enlighten me, Oh Learned one

Paywalled, does anyone know if this the Met?

No idea on the validity of the article but....
-it's a tough job
-who are you gonna call when you need help
-they're humans not robots
-they have feelings and emotions
-when you wish upon a star
-oh well, cant make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, suck it up and deal with it.

I think there has to be a level of fear for an authority to receive obedience otherwise there is no deterrent.

I recently broke my own rule on not talking politics and was a guest on a podcast with someone who I've communicated with online for a number of months in which I actually discussed the fact that our society has an obsession with forming binary camps that typically cover good/evil, left/right, liberal/conservative, east/west.

My input was that the only real and effective way to observe a society is through determining order/chaos. Now who benefits from allowing chaos to happen ? Criminals, bad people and also the elite (as chaos distracts the proletariat away from their corruption).

So to answer your question - FB92 wholeheartedly agrees with the police having the authority to physically engage with those who seek to commit criminality/chaos (within a reasonable boundary). It doesn't have any reflection on having or a lack of spirituality.

Despite that you seem to have managed to form a pretty binary view that the police always fall into the “good” camp

I am well aware that there are some shysters in the force. Its important to acknowledge however Legs that its the same for every profession.

Its also important to acknowledge that without order you give bad people free reign to do what they please including those who may previously have worn a badge.

Thats the point that a lot of anarchists / defund the police groups fail to understand.
