Excuse me, what? You know what you are.
Suits.
We have reached our natural conclusion.Excuse me, what?
I'll pack myself off to Auschwitz then eh?We have reached our natural conclusion.
Bad apples are bad.At this point I just wish people would stop using the few bad apples metaphor incorrectly. The point of it is, ‘a few bad apples spoil the bunch’ not ‘there are a few bad apples but the rest are heroes’
Yeah, the point I was making was, that the bad apples have caused the police services to be institutionally corrupt. It’s not adequate to just say “some are bad but most are sound” when reports have been finding that the problems are institutional and widespread.Bad apples are bad.
Normal apples aren't heroes, they are just apples.
Well hopefully in the future we can have Robot Police Officers without any human failings.Yeah, the point I was making was, that the bad apples have caused the police services to be institutionally corrupt. It’s not adequate to just say “some are bad but most are sound” when reports have been finding that the problems are institutional and widespread.
I don’t think anyone’s asking for that, they’re asking for them to behave how they’re supposed to, not abuse their power, and to be accountable when they act outside of acceptable practice.Well hopefully in the future we can have Robot Police Officers without any human failings.
But again, I just thought wishing death on Police Officers was wrong.
People were asking for that, you even liked a post asking for that.I don’t think anyone’s asking for that, they’re asking for them to behave how they’re supposed to, not abuse their power, and to be accountable when they act outside of acceptable practice.
Do you think that the institutional racism, homophobia, and sexism which have been found in the reports are completely acceptable? I’d imagine not, and this isn’t talking about small numbers.
Why do you just instantly deflect away from any valid criticism I make by saying “oh, but you liked a nasty post”?People were asking for that, you even liked a post asking for that.
Racism, homophobia and sexism aren't acceptable, I've never once defended any Police Officer who did that or broke the law.
The Police service is far from perfect, like most public services in this country it has been ran into the ground and neglected while the Tory rats fill their pockets.
But I can't solely blame them, the problems do seem deeply rooted.
People seem to hold the Police up as virtuous people and expect a different kind of person, for me they are just humans doing a very tough job, who are prone to doing what humans do.
Yes, humans do all those things. Why do you just instantly deflect away from any valid criticism I make by saying “oh, but you liked a nasty post”?
Again, for want of sounding like a broken record, reports have shown that racism, homophobia and sexism are institutional problems. That does not mean a few bad officers, but that it is problematic in the entire institution.
Prone to what humans do? What? Like shooting unarmed black people, choking women until they pass out, and turning off their bodycams so they can do god knows what to people? Like taking selfies with murdered women’s corpses? Like cutting off a woman’s (who they arrested at a vigil of another woman who was literally murdered by one of their colleagues) underwear, then yelling about how bad it smelled to their colleagues?
Get a grip.
If you’re going to be deliberately uncharitable in your interpretation of the points I’m making, then I’ll play that game too.Yes, humans do all those things.
Get a grip of what?
Nope, I didn't say they are ok.If you’re going to be deliberately uncharitable in your interpretation of the points I’m making, then I’ll play that game too.
You’re saying the things I listed above are okay, because that’s what humans do? So by that logic you want the police to keep treating the civilians they are allegedly supposed to be protecting like the above examples?
No, I don’t.Nope, I didn't say they are ok.
No, I don't want the Police to treat civilians badly.
See that was easy.
No, you, do you think that we need more Police Officers killed in the line of duty?
