Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this clear day here .I hope all are well and had a good night .Well that was a turn up for the books ,the ref actually played too much added on at the end of the game for the reds ,that is a first . We deserved something from the game for sure and it looks loki VVD might get a fine too . I too will get my wish of seeing someone replace Dukes as I have sadi running around and giving the ball away doesn't cut it for me .The only sadness was the loss of Illy ,he has been the stand out player for me and we will certainly miss his trickery .
A special mention to Beto for his tireless efforts and aplomb when getting his chance ,we must learn to play with him as he can finish ,if Moyes gives Tim a run I am sure he and Jimmy will provide a supply chain to Beto .Have a great day all COYB

Morning everyone,

Confession time .Unfortunately I missed the madness and mayhem of Goodison last night.

I had a crucial table tennis match the outcome of which is likely to determine if my team stays up or gets relegated..... familiar theme?

Anyway I went into the final game with us 2-1 down and as I hit the winning shot my team mate shouted out "Tarkys equalized!"

Have to be honest I thought this might be my last season of Division 1 table tennis but played the best I had all season to win all my games last night and take my team to a 7-3 win and near certainty of staying up.

Got home and watched the highlights and it was fantastic to see the team spirit and collective will to do well. Even better to see the RS losing their heads at the end. Wonderful stuff and a fitting send off for the Old Lady.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Well done on your results last night 👏👏. So now you’ve got next season to look forward to, a quote I often use “ You are never too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream”

Go head Beto lad , love this

🗣️ Beto on Evertonian’s: They always tell me, ‘Go on, Beto, lad’, ‘Keep going, Beto, lad’… it’s always ‘lad’ at the end as well! It’s good to see they care about me, even when I don’t play. Sometimes I even ask why do they care so much, but it’s a special thing.”

Well I guess its normally seen as an "Old thing " but I found out today I got to have a hearing aid. My hearing has been wild for a while and I have been suffering with tinnitus for ages, it got a bit better then went worse again. The reality of it has not quite set in yet as my hearing has always been razor sharp despite numerous other issues I have, I'm only in my 40's so fun and games ahead no doubt, guaranteed I will probably lose the damm thing within the first week anyway lol

Just watching the Derby again. They’re really a special bunch these reds aren’t they it’s hilarious to see.
Early start tomorrow for us. Following mr Ps pre op assessment they won’t progress until he has a scan on his heart. This is due to him having an atrial myxoma removed a few years ago and apparently the anaesthetist wants reassurance that it’s not growing back which is both reassuring and terrifying in equal measure. So after rattling a few cages on Monday I’ve managed to get an appointment tomorrow morning for him as we are keen for his progress towards a new knee to carry on.
Hopefully we’ll have something to celebrate tomorrow night as we are going out for dinner to our local restaurant for Valentine’s Day.
I think I need to see a doctor tbh as I keep having positive thoughts about Moyes as our manager 😂
Have a lovely Friday everyone 💙

SB I was advised to have hearing aids last year ( too many loud gigs in my teens I guess ) but vanity and a refusal to accept that my hearing really isn't that bad has made me postpone the decision for a couple of years. Good luck

Mrs J was diagnosed with an atrial myxoma too. When they did the operation that found that they had mis diagnosed it.

Is he going to Broad Green?

I was very like that at first, in a sense of not being bothered and just wanting things to be a bit easier but as the day has gone on and I have thought more about it I'm starting to have some doubts about the look of it and the reality of wearing one.

One of my favourite hobbies is Hi-Fi and I go to audio shows and despite my impairment I can still discern good and not so good systems.

I might mishear the occasional word and places like restaurants/ pubs can be challenging and accept that hearing loss is progressive but in my mind I'm at least a couple of years away from needing aids

No, he had his surgery at Stoke as it was the only bed available and due to the size of it he had to have it done immediately. His follow up scans have been at Wigan thank goodness. Wow that’s one heck of an op to go through for a misdiagnosis.
