Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone.

Finals night at the Southport Table Tennis tournament and everything went smoothly.....apart from my pathetic attempts at jokes whilst doing the presenting....ah well I will stick to the day job ....if I had one 😂.

So, the last ever Derby at Goodison and I'm dreading it even more than the normal Derby. Please boys just one big performance.

Bit grey and overcast here today. I'm hopeless with dates but I'm guessing from @Gwladysover previous post that today is @Barnfred 55 birthday but so sorry to read his earlier post . Try to enjoy the day mate.

Well , whatever you do , have a lovely day everyone.
Yes, I have indeed joined the massed ranks of 64 year olds. Luckily I hadn't made plans with anybody else for today so I'm just having a quiet one. As you can guess I'm not really in a celebratory mood anyway and have spent a lot of this morning messaging friends. I do have a nice non-vegetarian tea planned for tonight together with a bottle of my favourite Malbec. And will no doubt have a bottle of my favourite Spingo ale whilst cooking, and possibly a strong martini afterwards. Other than that I have no real plans. I'll probably watch some TLDP live videos this afternoon and one of my favourite DVDs later.

The one thing I will be avoiding is Sky Sports. My stars were definitely not aligned when the gods decided to hold the re-arranged derby on my birthday. ;)

Thanks for the kind words guys but I'm fine. Whatever happens now and in the future will never compare to the horrendous period during 21/22. If I can come through that.... Whilst very sad and, in Helen's case in particular, coming completely out of the blue, neither were a constant in my life. So the harsh reality is that once I get over the initial shock and sadness, my life is going to be pretty much unchanged. Had I still lived in Liverpool and saw them more regularly, then things would most probably be different. Sorry if that sounds a bit brutal.
You have trained yourself well to get over these things ,well done and Happy Birthday Mate

I haven't seen Coollino post since I've returned from South Africa. An occasional poster in here but a regular in the new music thread. Does anybody know if anything's happened with him?
I don't know if this will open but if it does you will need to confirm you are a human ,you can always get Rob to do It ! ! ! It is a mix of Matt's music .

Happy birthday @Barnfred 55. I hope you have had a nice day. So sorry about your friends. Will you go to Liverpool for the funerals or not? I haven't seen Coolinho either now you come to mention it.
I'm sure your presenting was great @jazzy . Glad the evening went well.
I'm still sad for Jess @Gwladysover - it sounds like a huge overreaction by the school and how could they make that call without even looking at her spots. I get all the no touch stuff but there has to be common sense applied - which appears to be sadly lacking in schools.
I went out for lunch today with a couple of work mates. The usual pie chips and mushy peas! So I hit the gym and the pool at 7am this morning - to burn a few calories. I am absolutely worn out now! I feel quite proud because I actually really pushed myself.
I've planned a trip to Liverpool in a couple of weeks - it will be nice to see everybody.
In other news, I'm about to book some flights to Australia as soon as they come out, for this time next year. It will be the fulfilment of a promise I made to my youngest niece at my Dad's funeral that I would attend her graduation. I've been told you can book 11 months in advance and that's when it is cheapest. I sincerely hope our overtime continues to be plentiful 🤣🤣
I don't know how I feel about tonight. My brother is going. I'm excited, sad it's the last one at Goodison, worried we might get made fools of, thinking we might sneak a win. Who knows?
Have a great night folks whatever happens x

Guess what I'm having for tea?
