Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Watford have lost their last 11 homes games , are already relegated and have about 113 players missing. We on the other hand have won an away game for the first time in 100 years.......what could possibly go wrong?
Those ‘Everton that’ days are over now jazzy. Win tonight and we are 99% safe as Burnley are not picking up 4 points from their last 3 matches.

If we do as suggested take 7000k away fans it will be like a home game. We even get to run out to Z Cars for goodness sake!

That'll be some effort. Fair do's if we manage it. lol

Joined the local golf club (social member, don't play now) Our new apartment overlooks the 7th green. It's only a smallish club but I got a very warm welcome and will be using their facilities for lunch, pint etc., Things going fairly well but her indoors is spending most time in bed. If I go out we have emergency contact systems in place and I am never that far away. Daughter no. 1 spent all day with us yesterday and worked like a Trojan. We are very fortunate that all our kids are brilliant, love them to bits.

That's both good and bad news in equal measure M.
I tip my hat to you dealing with all this with such fortitude.

Good to hear you're settling in M. I believe you're definitely doing the right thing by joining the golf club. Friendship and regular company will be important elements in your life going forward mate. Thinking of both you and Mrs M. Difficult days ahead but you know that.

I am overjoyed when you post as it shows you are looking ahead despite the problems ,I honestly think of you and the missus every day and thanks for brightening my day with the golf club news ,as @Barnfred 55 says it will be a refuge in the days and months to come .Is it for, four or fore that you shout ?

Been quite stormy down here this morning, to the extent that garden furniture and some plant pots blown over. Seems calm now and the rain has stopped. Forecast for it to brighten up this afternoon and evening so not all bad. I think the farmers will be happy we've had some rain as the forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend is for fine warm weather, but not as hot as elsewhere in the country.

Had the neighbour's son, Peter, around for drinks and some tea last night and enjoyed myself. Hosting and entertaining was a big part of our lives and it's nice to know i can still do it. He was here from 4 until 8 and the time went very quickly. 4 hours is unprecedented with Peter so I think he must have enjoyed himself too. Found out I had even less in common with him than I even thought. As I've already mentioned, he has zero interest in sport of any kind and is a bit of a loner. I've now found out he rarely watches TV, likewise with films although his favourite films are Harry Potter and The Marvel series, and his taste in music is Britney, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and somebody called Sia. So much for me putting on a playlist I thought he'd like. A noughties one which included artists like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Linkin Park, The Killers, The Zutons, Snow Patrol and the like. I have quite an extensive music taste so I can put together a playlist he'll enjoy next time he comes around. On that note, I needn't have worried about his culinary tastes, which his parents told me was very limited. He quickly finished off what I dished up last night (duck spring rolls followed by Thai chicken curry) and I didn't hold back on the spice levels either. I also found out that he loves Chinese fried rice and got a commitment to do this again next time his sister is away later this month.

Despite having very little in common we seem to enjoy each other's company so there's something to work on. He seems much more relaxed when his parents are away too.

Hope everybody has a good day today and we get a good result tonight. I will continue my vigil of abstaining from the game completely, and will enquire in here only after I know the game is over. The sacrifices I make lol

Hope you don't suffer any further delays at the airport Jazz and you enjoy excellent weather in Skiathos.

'Haven' had a decent hair cut for some months due to illness. Going to the Turkish Barber's in Flackwell Heath this morning. Wash, conditioner, blow dry, hair-cut. Can't wait, a bit itchy!
Hope your cut looks much more decent now. I would usually say pic or we don’t believe you, but out of respect I am going to defer ?

Just on the news here , per capita this is the worst place in the world for covid deaths at the moment .Quite a contrast from the first two years when we had less than 1000 in total.
Those are very unfortunate news, not what one hopes to hear two years down this Covid path. Stay safe my dear!

Bingo! It is indeed
Looks lovely @Gwladysover I especially like the planter with your granddaughters’ handprints and names :)

Hi chaps, just checking in, not feeling too clever, got terrible heartburn. Great result yesterday, my new vacuum is crap but hey ho. I will pop on tomorrow. Have a good day.
Sorry to hear, T. Hopefully you can return the vacuum.

Good evening folks. I think I've cracked the logistics of going to Liverpool for a bit of this week, until the weekend, and all of next week, immediately followed by a trip to Nottingham to see the son. Dad still in hospital and likely to be so for a bit longer. I have to say my faith in the NHS is being severely tested. Nobody talks to each other - the consultant doesn't talk to the doctor who doesn't talk to the nurses and you just go round in circles. Poor Dad hasn't had any dialysis since Friday because whatever vein they feed the tube into is blocked. He was supposed to have an op today to fix it but that's not until tomorrow now. He's got fluid on his lungs which apparently is all to do with his kidneys not working. The dialysis was also taking the fluid out. However obviously no dialysis = no fluid being drained. However they have decided to reduce the oxygen he's on because the dialysis is draining the fluid so he should be able to breathe better. When my brother queried this as in if one part of the plan is not in place then the rest of the plan needs to be revisited they had no answers - shocked faces all around.

In other news......there is no other news. Been to the gym twice in two days - the PT owes us a session so going again tomorrow. Crispy duck and pancakes for tea tonight. Home made. Was very lovely even if I do say so myself.

Wednesday is a big day - we so need not to lose against Watford and keep this momentum going. A win would be better of course.

Have a good night all x
Ange, I’m sorry to read about all the health issues your dad still encountering, hopefully your visit to Liverpool will help improve the NHS situation.
@Sassy Colombian - pleased to say I came across @Twinkletoes123 on the main forum. She's fine and says she just took time out because of the team's plight but has missed it. Be lovely to see you back posting.
I am aware, but I truly appreciate you thinking of letting me know. I’m very happy to see @Twinkletoes123 posting again. We had missed you!

Of course he enjoyed your company, darling. You are a likable lad lol plus you make yummy food.

I also want to believe that, only up and forward from now on. We can make it!

Happy match day Blues!

Busy past two days at work so I could be home today working remotely and later be able to watch the match live so it was worth it. Super excited about our chances to get another 3 precious points, I know our players can do it if they are committed to this fight as they have shown the past couple of games.

Sunny day in Asheville but we have had some cold morning still. Im so ready for warm weather to be here as I just paid yesterday another higher bill to warm up our home. May try to do some gardening later this afternoon. It is that time of the year that the garden requires a lot of time and love.

Leave you with a pic of these bouquet of flowers my mum brought me for mother’s day.

And a pic of the yellow Azalea tree that we came across at the arboretum the other day when we went walking.
