Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear things are not going too well for your Dad at the moment, hope the hospital manage get his treatment sorted. I have to agree that my faith in the NHS (which I would once have defended with my last breath) has been severely dented over the last few months. Our elderly neighbour was taken to hospital with a mini stroke before Christmas and discharged after two days with no care package in place - she lives alone so was left to cope on her own. The follow up appointment took place in February over the phone - she is deaf and the consultant would speak only to her. She has been increasingly frail and confused over the last months and is back in hospital again this time with a number of symptoms. I know underfunding etc is at the root of the NHS problems and there are many doctors and nurses doing a fantastic job but I can’t help thinking that Blanche and many elderly people like her are being let down. Rant over. Best wishes to your Dad and yes I agree Wednesday is a big day and a must not lose game.Good evening folks. I think I've cracked the logistics of going to Liverpool for a bit of this week, until the weekend, and all of next week, immediately followed by a trip to Nottingham to see the son. Dad still in hospital and likely to be so for a bit longer. I have to say my faith in the NHS is being severely tested. Nobody talks to each other - the consultant doesn't talk to the doctor who doesn't talk to the nurses and you just go round in circles. Poor Dad hasn't had any dialysis since Friday because whatever vein they feed the tube into is blocked. He was supposed to have an op today to fix it but that's not until tomorrow now. He's got fluid on his lungs which apparently is all to do with his kidneys not working. The dialysis was also taking the fluid out. However obviously no dialysis = no fluid being drained. However they have decided to reduce the oxygen he's on because the dialysis is draining the fluid so he should be able to breathe better. When my brother queried this as in if one part of the plan is not in place then the rest of the plan needs to be revisited they had no answers - shocked faces all around.
In other news......there is no other news. Been to the gym twice in two days - the PT owes us a session so going again tomorrow. Crispy duck and pancakes for tea tonight. Home made. Was very lovely even if I do say so myself.
Wednesday is a big day - we so need not to lose against Watford and keep this momentum going. A win would be better of course.
Have a good night all x
I agree totally. I also think it is the elderly who are being let down the worst. There also comes a time when underfunding and staff shortages can no longer mask what seems to be incompetence and a lack of empathy. Hope your neighbour recovers and can come home soon.Sorry to hear things are not going too well for your Dad at the moment, hope the hospital manage get his treatment sorted. Sadly the deficiencies with the NHS are nothing new and not necessaririly related to money.Sorry to hear things are not going too well for your Dad at the moment, hope the hospital manage get his treatment sorted. Re the NHS ( and this isn't political and those who know me know I lean to the left ) it isn't all about funding. Clearly the NHS can never have enough money regardless of the actual budget.Well done @jazzy for sorting it out for your wife ,good morning all on the wonderful day in Finland .I hope all had a great kip and refreshed for the day ahead. I feel that Frank has got the boys on side and I am looking forward to the game tomorrow .Wood chopping and a few small jobs around the garden for me today .
The wife has Rheumatiod arthritis and takes some strong tablets on Tuesdays and they knock her about a bit by afternoon so I do her a treat and spoil her with some food we can't eat normally -bacon butties and the like -just to perk her up a bit ,tomorrow she takes another drug to counteract the one she takes today .
I must say reading about the NHS is very sad as a kid I was in hospital for two and a half years and had the best of attention ,I hate politics but there must be something to be done enabling them to be better funded . We pay for everything here usually a small amount but just a visit costs about 20€ ,if you getting the service it seems to me to be worth it but of course there are those who are struggling financialy and we must think of them not just ourselves .Oh to get back to the days when it was free but of course even then something was paying for it ,higher taxes or whatever.
Just on this thread there are many that deserve better than they are getting.
Have a great day blues .
