Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I’m very happy for you and for the prospect of Fein bringing Irish unity. The news are definitely making headlines here in the US.

It is the first time since Partition that there should now be a Nationalist First Minister - the Unionists for years gerrymandered constituencies to ensure that even in places with Nationalist majorities Unionists got more seats.

I have met the SF leader and she is a very genuine intelligent and open person. We are heading for her leading that party from the history of supporting violence to becoming leaders North and South.

She is streets ahead of other leaders, practical and really wants to move on - her interview a while ago was superb.

Thank you Sassy.

I’m a political geek and look forward to trawling the US sites to get their take on it all over the weekend.
That makes two of us ? Not sure if you have NY times subscription but here are some good articles about it.

That’s fantastic. The world need more women leaders.

It is very hard for a non resident to understand the situation but my one and only wish for as long as I can remember is for peace ,it matters not to me who is the political leader just please have peace . I am not in anyway a political wizzard just a peace loving man who wants it for the whole world .I hope you get a brilliant leader , here in Finland we have a president and had a prime minister both women and first class politicians .

Johnson is probably the worst PM I have seen. Thatcher was very difficult and hurt many people with her policies particularly in the north of England.

Our Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Haughey was able for her, and in her memoirs she actually wrote well of him.

However, in hindsight I think she was far more capable that Johnson. I don't think he will last much longer as PM

Adams had way too much baggage given his history with the IRA. Mary Lou is a breath of fresh air and makes other leaders North and South look like boring old dinosaurs.

I forecast that if she became SF leader support for SF would rise in the Republic - she has gone way past my expectations down South and now also helped Michelle O Neill to become leader of the largest party in NI. Outstanding performance in a few years.

She has no baggage but wants to just get on with people and move on.

Meanwhile Donaldson still sulking and says he will not nominate a DUP minister to the Executive FFS

I agree. It is shameful what he and his government did during Covid restricted times having all those parties while forcing people to stay away from family and friends. He is such a hypocrite and just a bad leader that needs to be replaced.
