Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Tummy, man boobs and jowls were my problem T. The jowls and man boobs are coming on fine, the tum not so quickly. lol
haha I feel you, I look at my face now and think it needs more weight on it lol I went from having pecs to man boobs as well but not bothered anymore I can't do exercise rigorous enough to shift it. I'm happy to be thin again, it is one less thing for my mental health to deal with as I was always embarrassed about the weight.

All my mates used to go hard on me because I was in such good shape and really let myself go, I was a cardio machine and did weights, I had a good athletic physique. Then people who I hadn't seen for years would comment if I ever ran into anyone. It took a while for it too register that it was up to me(the man who used to preach to people to get to the gym) to do it myself.

That went well for a change, finally got a Dr who listened to everything I said. She agreed with me about the neck causing further complications with my muscles down the rest of my body, which the last Dr refuted, I know a little about anatomy and physiology and so i knew I was correct.

I have been booked in for blood tests tomorrow and she is going to chase the pain clinic up as she feels like I may have been discharged ? I have a degenerative disease, why would they discharge me, it won't suddenly get better.

I have also just found out that the dose of amitriptyline I am on isn't high enough to help with the neuropathic pain, I am astounded at this when i have been complaining about tingling sensations around the base of my cervical spine for years , apparently the dose I am on is to help me sleep. So that is being raised.

I feel like I have been heard for once ?‍♂️ let's see developments. I said i know of others with spondylosis who don't have anywhere near the complications that I suffer. Overall a good call for once.
That's good news. Something positive happening.

I've been a bit of a numpty though, when I called about my urine the other week, I picked up the bottle but my toilet going went back to normal and I was peeing fine but apparently the other Dr had asked for quite a lot of testing on my bloods, above and beyond just prostate. So I could have been a bit further on but I didn't realise.

Sunny down here today but the wind has picked up measurably, and it's a coolish wind too. No sitting in the back for me today. However a friend told me that the rhododendron et al are out in force at Glendurgan gardens so I might take a walk down there after lunch. It's about a mile and a half away, and the gardens are quite extensive so it will be about a 4/5 mile round walk in total, so a good workout. My spouse NT membership card is valid until the end of next year so I may as well make use of it.

As well as visiting Iceland (the shop) yesterday I also spent time in M&S to buy some clothes. Bought some new jeans as the old ones are now far too loose and also a couple of pairs of shorts. Also bought some new T shirts and got the lower size thinking it will be fine seeing I've lost over 2 stone. However they are a bit snug, if you know what I mean. probably no snugger than my existing T shirts were before I lost the weight, but I've kind of got used to my T shirts being a bit loose on me. So my question to the ladies on here is what should i do. I always took my lead from Cal when it came to clothing. I can either return the T shirts now (would need to get a bus and a train to get into Truro to do so) and swap them for the larger size. Start wearing them immediately even though they're a bit snug. Or keep them in the hope I lose more weight and return them at a later date if i don't. What's Marksies policy on returns? i know they are usually quite fair as long as you have the bill, but not sure whether they have any time constraints.

Anyway, hope you all have a good day and your treatment goes well Blue.
Depends how you feel and the definition of " snug". If it involves gaps between tum and trousers if they ride up, take them back. If you like them and feel OK in them keep them.

By snug, I mean that if its cold, you would be able to tell. If that makes sense.

They actually fit me, in a fit where they touch kind of way. Do you know if M&S have a time limit on returns Anj.

They're taking the piss now mate?

Yeah, I put the weight on gradually over the years, but I always have the intention of losing it so have kept quite a few of my old clothes in the hope I'd fit back into them. Some have hardly been worn, because you do that thing of not admitting to yourself that you're putting weight on and buying clothes too small for you.

Also, re not being young men on the razz anymore, I did contemplate buying some new undies, but decided that I'd go with what i have for the moment. I mean, it's not as if anybody is ever going to see them. lol

As regards the jeans, Cal used to hate me wearing baggy jeans. She said she liked to see the shape of my arse. So I've always bought slim fit. Luckily my legs have always been pretty trim. All my excess weight has always been above the waist. lol
That is another nightmare for me ,your arse in skinny jeans !

Just the fact they listen and I can see the difference in your postings ,take this and run with it as it seems you have her on your side .Well done .

Had a nice afternoon so far. Been out for about two and a half hours and walked down, or rather up because it's uphill on the way out, to Glendurgan gardens. It's one of the valley gardens quite common in this area of Cornwall but it's the only one administered by the National Trust. Next door to it is Trebah, Jazzy's favourite place, and I'll probably visit there later in the year. Trebah is probably one of the two best gardens in Cornwall along with Heligan. At the bottom of the garden is Durgan village, well a hamlet really, on the banks of the Helford. There were a few National trust properties down there that Cal used to cover so we were probably down there once or twice a week during the summer. It's the first time I've been there since Cal passed and I thought I might get a bit upset but i was fine. It's a tidal river and the tide was in so it was great to smell the salt air and the seaweed and the sea as a contrast to the smell of bluebells and other fauna in the garden. The walk back up to the top of the garden was a bit of a slog, but fortunately the mile and a half back into the village was pretty much flat or downhill so I was fine by the time I got home. I'm finding the walks getting physically easier which is good. Had a few chats to different people along the way, most of them older couples on holiday. Took a few pics for Sass but I'll probably have to reduce the size before posting so that should take me most of the afternoon. For now, the sun is shining again and I'm going to sit out in the back for a bit and have an ice cream. If the wind isn't too bad i might just stay out there a touch longer and have a glass of beer too. ;)
