Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this muggy one here ,I hope all are wel and had a good noght's restful slumber . I have resorted to watching videos of the Newcastle and Chelsea games on a loop . I have been reading a lot about Jack staying and the fee they would/might have to pay .For me he slows us down too much and the money would be spent better on younger players with a value after their comntract runs down ,he would be worth zilch after a couple of years ,if he can make it that far .
Have a great day all COYB
Think of us ladies, he HAS to stay. ;)

I got a letter from the government saying that they’d paid me £100 for winter fuel, but as my pensions are all quite decent they would be taking it back over the course of the year. Now I don’t mind paying tax and I’ve paid an awful lot over the years and didn’t want any fuel allowance. But what really annoys the life out of me, is one civil servant and their trusty computer paying this into my bank, while another HMRC civil servant and their trusty computer is adjusting my tax codes so they can take it back. A complete and utter waste of time and money. I’d love to meet the idiot responsible for coming up with this stupid policy. Rant over…..
Last October I had a call from my sister’s care home , they’d opened a letter to her from HMRC saying she owed tax , all she has is a state pension but apparently they’d been sending letters to her at the home . I’d covered all her letter previously , DWP etc for years . I took it over, send direct to me etc and the next thing I knew I was getting txts from a debt collection agency for another unknown debt ! Luckily i got someone at HMRC who was outraged that debt collectors had been involved and we sorted it over the phone.

That’s absolutely disgusting. What next, sending debt collectors to pin notices on gravestones ?? . Someone really should be getting sacked for the additional anxiety they are bringing to people for what is usually pennies…..

We could fall out about this I think he will be an asset to us. He knows what it takes to win things. Even if we had him for a couple of years he would be worth it.

Shame she isn't called Frankie Dettori. She would be fine then. I doubt if he has had debt collectors at his door.

Vile of the debt collectors but what do you expect from them. Whenever I bought my home I was plagued by debt collectors looking the previous owners. They actually demanded I send them my ID and proof that I had bought the house or they would send the bailiffs out. God help their wit, there are no bailiffs in the North 😀.

All my years of education and I resorted to a ‘Koff and good luck sending bailiffs here.

Hello everybody. I hope you are all as well as you can be. My weekly highlights have included getting a new back gate - now needs painting; a parish council meeting- 3 hours of my life I'll never get back; Frankie sleeping over last night and the cat realising that if she attacks the Sky box and chews the wires she gets immediate attention. Tomorrow we are going out. Like proper out out. We are going for a few drinks in Newcastle and then to see Echo and The Bunnymen. Revisiting my youth! Should be good.
In spite of being a very lapsed Catholic I still can't shake the no meat on Good Friday vibe. I feel like I would be struck by lightning if I indulged. So we are having salmon and pea risotto for tea.
Have a good one folks x

I have to disagree with your take on Grealish. There was a reason why he was the most fouled player in the league pre injury. Easily had the highest assist stats in our team. Off the field he instantly increases the profile of the club and that does feed into the financials too. For 16m I would jump at a deal.

Still a real shame that he forgot he is Irish.

Well that is the last thing I want ,I have very few friends !!
I am looking at it from a purely personal view ,The mid eighties side were a very young one overall and that is what I think would be best for us in the long term .
There was an article this week saying we are not out of the woods financially which forces me to look to the future and spend the pennies wisely .

Well I suppose everyone has their price and I am basing my opinion on them wanting somewhere near the 50M that we agreed to to get the loan .Yes I agree he has pulling power and will sell shirts but I do feel he gets us so far up the pitch and then stops us ,my problem is that Moyes loves him and that means it will be the same tactic ( notice the singular ,as Moyes doesn't have a plan B ) which to me won't help our to CFs ,they have shown they are better running onto a ball than the optimistic punt into the box ,marginally of course !

The last minute winner he scored v Palace at the first, and being realistic one of the few trips I am ever likely to make to BM, gave me one of the best experiences of my life. I’d pay - He’s worth every penny. This attitude probably explains why I am not listed on the Times Rich List.🤣
