Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Do you like cake Blue?

Can't stand it myself. My lovely SiL made me a birthday cake last month and I gave the whole thing to my mum ( who was made up ) and she said it was great.

I've never liked it .
My Dad didn’t like cake and was much happier with a plate of cheese and pickles. The two youngest grandkids don’t much like cake either, given the choice they opt for sausage rolls, often vegetarian if I’m in charge of catering, they never notice the difference!

Wow that's a lovely sunrise bl.

It was a fair bit warmer than of late when I got up an hour ago to make a cup of tea and let the dogs out for their constitutional.
At this time of year the sun has a low arc where it comes up beyond the hills to our left , and 7 hours later is disappearing to our right often in a blaze of spectacular red sky. We don’t have a panoramic , all round view but enough to catch both in winter .
I’m now planning on which roads will be ice free for my run……and how long I can leave it for the sun to warm things up! Have a super birthday @anjelikaferrett , and a great day everyone.

Good morning all. Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes. Like @jazzy a couple of weeks ago, it is my Sgt Pepper birthday. I've realised that 64 years prior to my birth was still in the 1800s. There's a thought for the day! So far I've had a lie in, Charlotte made me breakfast and I think we're going to the Italian restaurant near our house tonight (walkable so I can drink!)

As you all know my son has problems ,he used to drink Irn bru ,one day he couldn't find it but found a substitute which he became fond of .Upon reading the contents he found it had no sugar and none of the dodgy alternatives .To cut a long story short this lead to him stopping having anything with sugar including some of his beloved curries . Now his joints are better , if he has any sugar he can tell immediately as he starts to ache .

Not sure if you know blue but Irn bru now do sugar free and it has become more popular than the original.
Me and the missus like the sugar free, it's especially nice with vodka and ice and known as a 'girder' in some parts up here.

I don't drink it as it isn't here but I am sure my son will have found it ,he doesn't drink alchohol either now so I cannot see him trying that but I would .

To acknowledge the anniversary of the great man’s passing and birthday this week I’ve had a lovely morning in the kitchen bulk cooking 3 soups whilst listening to Station to Station and Aladdin Sane. Currently watching Tamworth and Spurs in the cup. One of the Tamworth team works in Zara - how cute!
Enjoy your Sunday everyone and especially @anjelikaferrett, enjoy your meal later 🥂
