I was on a flight no idea where to but I picked up the free paper and was gutted . Do ypu have any problem from the people in the migrant homes where you are @Val P ? My daughter is in Standish and they are entering homes and demanding money ,what a sad state of affairs that people are reduced to doing that .I know some are predisposed to such things but most are not .

No I haven’t at all. There used to be a few knocking about when they were in the local hotel and there were some rumblings about them harassing girls on their way to school, but I thought it had all died down since they moved out of the hotel which has since been refurbished. Is this recent?

It’s funny how we remember where we were when we heard Everton news. I was stood on the platform at Manchester Victoria station when my husband rang me up to say Duncan Ferguson had gone to Newcastle - I literally cried.

Did you ever listen to a Lancashire radio station with a presenter ( with a true Lancashire accent ,probably Bacup ) I think his name was Alan......could be Myes , he hated scousers so that was a red rag to a bull , they came on in cognito to catch him out .It was a while ago like 35 years or so . I used to love it as he was not easy to catch by surprise .

When Bally left I was working nights as I was waiting to clock off one of the day shift came in and showed us his paper ,I was so gutted I couldn't talk for ages .
I used to drink in the same pub as Colin Harvey and I felt as a teenager that I was part of it all ,we then went on to a club at the top of Bold Street and lots of players were in there red and blue so I was in with the in crowd -except I wasn't . Bally was by far the most exciting player I have ever seen in a blue shirt for a time ,there was Rooney and James and then Pienaar who I loved watching but Bally was on a pedestal as he had such skill and fire in his belly .

Went to a rugby match today. Bit one sided. The half time entertainment was more interesting.
