Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this snowy day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all are well and had a good kip. Off to give more blood and the other offering ,I only managed to fill one canister . Then on to the hardware store for hammerite to repaint some lanterns that have started to peel off their paint .Shopping day too we have lamb cooked in coffee for easter so there should be some in the shops ,funnily they don't sell a lot of lamb in the supermarkets ,we have to go to the eastern delies outside of easter time. Have a great day all .COYB

Morning all. Grey and cloudy again here, that’s me and the weather - perhaps I should consider dyeing my hair. lol One of the many items on my list of “things to go wrong and no trip to Goodison” list was crossed off yesterday. I had been worrying that the next round of rail strikes would be announced for that weekend. A strike was the reason our trip to Liverpool last year had to be cancelled. The dates were announced yesterday and the strike is on the Saturday, we travel Friday and Sunday. Phew, one less thing to worry about, only umpteen more to go.
Have a good day, all.💙

Any other plans while in the City or is the game your main focus?

The EMR strike is Friday which is the Peterborough - Liverpool line. Or are you getting there a different way as Peterborough to Liverpool on EMR takes ages....

Hi guys. I hate secrets but I've been keeping one and I feel it's time to share with you all because you share your ups and downs, good times and bad times. I have told a couple of people but I wasn't ready to open it to the wider world. However I feel I can now. A few weeks ago our son had a growth removed from his ankle that looked like an infected bite. Unfortunately it has turned out to be a malignant melanoma. He now needs a further, bigger operation on his foot to dig out any remaining cancerous cells. He also had a full body scan. The results were good but not as good as they could have been. His liver, lungs and brain are clear but one of his lymph nodes was enlarged so that could mean it has spread to there. Or it could be nothing. He now has to have a biopsy on that to find out. As you can imagine we are so upset, even though the prognosis is generally good and I am confident that he will be OK. It's just not something you expect to have to deal with when it's your kids. I have to say 2024 has been a pretty sh*t (sorry Pete) year so far.
I’m thinking of you all and hope you keep getting positive news. I just can’t imagine how you must be feeling- it’s awful enough when it’s parents/spouse, but you never expect it to be your children. 💙

Ah that's [Poor language removed] anj, hope he's ok and makes a speedy recovery 💙

Afternoon all, been round the docks this morning, I took pics, will share when I go back on my pc. I am determined to fight and keep this depression at bay. I'm helping myself to help myself and trying not to feel sorry for myself.

Have a good day guys
Great attitude @Terrarian, keep going 💙

Morning all, all the stuff you are going through on here and I’m moaning about my back - soz. Anyway off to see physio this afternoon. Finally gave up on my varifocals and had lenses replaced with distance ones, it means carrying a bag full of glasses everywhere but hey. Just off to do an online work session with 10 cushions to sit on (exaggeration ) and a hot water bottle.
