Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this fine morning here in Finland ,I hope all are well , recovered from the mess that is Everton and have a fine day today .
My overall feeling is one of bewilderment I just don't have any idea how to stop this downward spiral in the league . All these stats showing we should be winning and be far better off than we are ,are rubbish it is points that matter and on that stat we are going down. The only team not to win this year ,how many games without a win ,it truly is relegation on the horizon and we all know which game will confirm it .
If you wrote a book it would be in fiction , I am sorry I am not onboard with Dyche saying "The longer you wait the nearer the goal is "that doesn't account for the fact we might be too late .
There is obviously another side to all this and that is the squad not just the first team but the rest ,they must be so poor that the poor man has to manage with about 11 decent players a couple who think they are great ,of which only one could be -No that is not you Onana ,you are the other one - and a rabble of out of form ,aged or simply not up to the task players .Oh and the second team who haven't got anyone worth a mention. Where is our Alan Whittle ?
Have a great day all .COYB
Sadly Alan Whittle was able to make an impact with such brilliant players around him that we don’t now have, oh for those days. While I don’t think anybody from the u21s is currently PL ready, given our current state I’d look at fast-tracking Jenson Metcalfe over the next three weeks , Chermiti too, we’ve got to the stage where something new is needed.

Three weeks without Everton will be a God-send. I was at OT yesterday with my son, and I thought we were the better team, but the same problems emerged.

I'm off to see my mother day, and then we're going for a Turkish as a family and my mum.
When you look at the stats we should have come away with a point at least. We are our own worst enemy, have a good day.

Morning everyone and happy Mother's Day to all of you who are mum's.

A bit rainy today. Cold a bit better but I think I will spend some time with mum this morning and then forget about how crap Everton are by watching some decent teams play , yeah Villa , Spurs and City should produce some good football and hopefully not a hoof in sight .

Everyone says "oh don't worry we have 4 easy home games " FFS have you seen our home form? Especially when teams sit deep against us.

Mrs J cooking mum a nice roast today so that's good too.

6 chickens got dumped at the rescue yesterday so it won't take you 3 guesses to work out where their new home is. Our cockrell seemed particularly pleased for some strange reason. As Rod said "Some guys have all the luck"

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.
Glad you’re feeling better, just seen John Stones slot against the r/s. 🤞

Happy Mother’s Day to all, hope you’re having a lovely time. These blonde moments of mine are getting worse. Today we’ve been to Keswick. In a vintage shop I was looking at the vinyl and I said to mr p, I could retire if I sold all mine. You are retired he replied.
Then, very embarrassing this, he nipped to the loo so I said give me the car keys and I’ll go and get out of the rain. No spaces so I nodded to this guy to indicate I was leaving and he crawled behind me in his car as I walked back to our car. Went to were I thought it was in the corner except it wasn’t in that corner it was in the opposite one so I had to turn round and walk back. If looks could kill 😂.

Good morning all on the fine day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all are well and ahd good night .Thanks @Val P for starting the day with a laugh although it was an embarassing one as I too have done daft things like that .
My worst was in Cornwall last year when out with my DIL and grandkids ,when I travel I love to speak to kids in English to surprise their parents who often don't realise how good they speak it .So upon seeing an Indian family in the resort of St Ives I went up and asked the kids if they speak English which of course they did as they were from London . I went so red with embarassment I could feel the heat .My DIL didn't see it so I was saved from that .
Have a great day all COYB

A bit of culture to start your week off. Belfast has two new statues that I thought I would share. First up is Winifred Carney

Next we have Mary Ann McCracken.

It is a sign of a more mature Belfast that these statues have been given pride of place right in the centre of the city.

Two very impressive women, especially Mary Ann McCracken…..

BTW BL we had a great weekend in Elgin, visited Lossiemouth beach also.
I love malt whisky but I never realised how many distilleries there were concentrated along the final stretch of road before Elgin.
Will definitely be visiting up there again.

Good morning all on this clear day here in Finland -10° .I hope all had a fine night and have an even better day today .
Today is mine and @Barnfred 55 's anniversary ,it is the day I arrived at his house and he ,poor lad ,looked out off the window to find an empty car .As I had arrived at dawn I went for a walk to see the lovely village and stretch my legs .It took about 8 hours for me to get there from Stanstead through the night so no idea if it was daytime with the trafic around London.
We had a fine week with some lovely food cooked up by mein host ,I was able to see lots of Cornwall with my own guide ,a friend always told me if you can get a local to show you the place! So now I know all the supermarkets ,pie shops ,pasty shops and sausage shops within a 50 mile radius with a sprinkling of Chinese shops and fish and chip restaurants and wine stockists !
I was entertained in a way I wouldn't have thought possible and we have become friends for life ,one of the nicest men you could ever meet .For that alone I will remain truly thankful but there was much more ,to quote a certain cad "What happens in Cornwall ,stays in Cornwall " Thanks @Barnfred 55 mate

Indeed, the “ Welcome to Malt Whisky Country” and the “Malt Whisky Trail” are great tourist signs. I’m repeating myself ( many times!) by saying I believe I’m the only one on GOT who can see a distillery from my back window! A trip from Aviemore through Rothes,/Craigellachie/ Aberlour and along the Spey takes you close to over a dozen distilleries. I was confused at first , I guess you approached Elgin that way from A9. It’s the annual Whisky Festival , Spirit of Speyside 1-6th May, lots going on then , music, talks as well as whisky.
Glad you and Mrs LT had a good time, Lossie’s East Beach has been transformed again now they’ve opened the new footbridge, annoyingly so were their footy team on Saturday , beating Buckie 2-1 🤷‍♂️.
