Morning all. We seem to be similar views on cars Val. Mine is coming up to 11 years old, done 95k but I only do about 6k miles per year. Mrs bl does about 2k puttering about in hers, I do the longer trips. I stopped by the local garage on my run yesterday to take my regular look at their cars , and the salesman came out to nab me so off I went. I’m looking to hold on to it until 100k , just because because ! It gets me from A-B , I don’t get unduly upset about the occasional bumps that appear out of nowhere and its great for taking loads of rubbish to the local dump without worrying about the interior . The real reason I suspect is that I hate washing my car , which I’d feel compelled to do more often if it was new. “ Washing your car religiously” seems to be the major pastime in our street , and I feel not the slightest bit guilty when I run past them with a cheery “ Morning!” I just don’t see me lying on my death bed saying …” I wish I’d washed the car more “Morning all, nothing much to report here. The weather is a bit meh in spite of little signs of spring but the extra daylight is very welcome. Off to take my car for its MOT this morning. The garage always laugh at how few miles it’s done since the last one as since I’ve retired I don’t go very far in it. We probably should go down to one car but I really love it - it’s 11 years old and has only done 54k. Once I’ve dropped it off I’ll walk into town and see how many other shops have closed down. It’s so sad how some town centres are looking these days, yet others seem to thrive. Have a great day everyone![]()

My neighbours sister backed into mine in her SUV, I’d parked in a different position than normal. She was mortified but her uncle fixed it no problem and she was most surprised by my “ Oh well, shoite happens “attitude. If the car was pristine and brand new I may have felt differently. I have friends who are bewildered by my attitude to cars, maybe some on here are tooI wish you’d tell my husband thatbut I can’t complain - he keeps them pristine but that means that any little dinks I get or potholes I might go over are classed as almost grounds for divorce. (Except the time he reversed mine into the garage door of course). I’ve said I will get rid of mine when my hips go, as it’s quite low but in fairness it’s very convenient.
That's such a nice thought.Morning all, cloudy here but at least it’s dry after yet another rainy day yesterday. Off to see my friend this morning after the school run. Been thinking of a birthday present for her, it’s not until June but I usually start thinking of ideas in January as I like to come up with something out of the ordinary. Last year’s was a piece of the original Lowestoft pier! This year I’m thinking of having the photo of her late mother which we rescued from her loft restored. I’m hoping she will entrust me with it so I can get it scanned, I just need to pluck up the courage to ask her to part with it.
Hope you get on okay at the dentist @anjelikaferrett .
