Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yes we noticed that too - with hindsight they must have known and it makes watching the series all the more poignant
Yeah just watched that bit. So many memories from that part of Wales. We used to visit regularly.

Just watching them make pasties from a previous series. You can really see the difference in Dave, not just his appearance but his overall persona. I think he knew his days were numbered in this last series.

I’m sure they both knew it was their last hurrah together and to their credit they made a great success of it. It would be nice if Si King stayed involved with TV as he is such a warm character.

The Hairy Bikers made food everyone could have a go at and I think it’s time for me to start re-visiting those recipes.
Je suis Fred. I seemingly can't help it.

Agreed on Si but can't see it myself. They were as much a double act as Morecambe and Wise.

Morning all. Hope you are all having a good day. The foot X Ray results are in. I've got mid foot arthritis. I've been referred to physio. Oh joy!
I too was very sad about Dave Myers. They both come across as genuinely warm, kind, likeable people and I think that's what resonates with those who watch. I can't see Si carrying on on his own in the same format. He'll miss Dave too much.

Afternoon everyone, just been catching up with all the posts, lovely day here in the Midlands, 9C and very sunny, hope it’s nice where you all are……
Beautiful day as evidenced by the fact that the dogs 45 minute walk took 90 minutes today. 👍The only problem is that we need 3 or 4 consecutive days like today for ALL the mud to disappear from the fields/woodland.

Try their cheese and onion pie ,I love it but the wife restricts my intake .We don't have chips here so I slice a spud thinly and fry them in a frying pan ,served with the obligatory splash of vinegar .Oh my word .

I had a cheeee and onion pie from Gregg’s the other week while on the hoof. It was as bland as it was disappointing.

Having now read the recipe I can see why your portions of it are restricted. It sounds amazing though, perfect for a summer’s day in the garden and an icy lager.

Making my cheese and onion on toast for tea tonight. Not one for the arteries either. I have some fresh parmesan in the fridge so might grate a bit over before finishing off under the grill.

Thanks for the inspiration H😀😀
