Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

HI everybody. I hope you have all had a good Sunday. The second viewing on my Dad's house went well. Mum and auntie came with the couple and it was all very positive. So, hoping they make an offer.
I'm goimg into the office tomorrow. I need to pck up some new kit. My mouse has broken and my head set has bare wire poning through the plastic coating. I've just ironed some clothes!!
I can't remember ifI told you but a few weeks ago I got a reminder from Easyjet that I had a voucher that was expiring soon.I had completely forgotten about it - it's worth £60 so we've booked flights to Belfast in October. We only had to pay £11 extra. I am so excited, I've been wanting to go to the Titanic museum since it opened.
We've also got a date to meet the in laws. Easter weekend in Nottingham. I'm quite nervous about it - especially when son told me his future father in law's political views are somewhere to the right of Nigel Farage! I may have to remain sober for the event.

Good morning all on this misty day here in Hyvinkää. I hope all are well and had a good night 's sleep .It is hard when someone passes as it reminds you of your own mortality .we are here for a short time ,this is why I try to do something every day that makes my being here worthwhile . I have watched some just waiting for the day the grim reaper ,it will not be me !
Once again this thread is showing that we have a real connection ,which is lovely .
Have a great day all COYB

Morning everyone,

Last day in Madeira today.

Had a fab time mostly visiting gardens and doing mountain levada walks.

Yesterday was Mrs Js birthday and when we got back to the hotel received an invite to go to the 11th floor terrace bar where they put on free canapes and a bottle of prosecco. Lovely and I didn't even tell them , must have just scanned the passport when we checked it. Perfect after a 5 hour hike.

Weather's been lovely, about 20 degrees and mostly sunny.

If you've been never been I really recommend Madeira and Funchal, great for a short break.

Full day today , sightseeing/ shopping in the old town, a tasting session at Blandys and a paella lunch in the sun before a late flight tonight.

Hope everyone is ok and have a lovely day.

….i’ve been, got my photo taken with the famous ugly Ronaldo statue at the airport on the way back. We both scored at Old Trafford although I accept he got a few more than me!!!

No pics from me , but I went orienteering in Cawdor today , Cawdor of Macbeth and Cawdor castle fame. I foolishly entered a very long course in a very tough , rough , forest , picked up a few niggles but reflecting now on a somewhat sombre weekend .

….remember the ‘Thane of Cawdor’ from my O-Level English Lit. Macbeth was our Shakespeare play, To Kill a Mockingbird the book (remains my favourite to this day) and War Poets the poetry. Funny how things stay in your mind.

Glad you enjoyed it nate. The terrace canapés and fizz made me very envious.

Many years ago I went Orienteering in Birnam Wood, I remember it for startling a Capercaillie, wow! , they are big birds and make a lot of noise when they fly off! I also drove past and discovered a new distillery near Cawdor, “ Royal Brackla “ , I’ve never tried it though. It’s a nice area, inland but with views out over the Moray Firth. Culloden battlefield is a few miles up the road.

Morning all, hope everyone is well and had a restful sleep.

Sunny out today so went a bit further afield with Daisy, still too waterlogged to be going up any fields though. Done my legs in a bit and I have therapy and a physical health check this afternoon.

So glad I don't have to keep putting Daisy's pen up anymore, she behaves well on her own now. She doesn't drink her water when I am out, almost as if she is worried I won't come back and so doesn't want to waste it lol bless her.

Have a nice day people.
