Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Just when you think that the Pound land Thatcher can't makes things worse....
OMG not only is she completely incompetent but she is a coward throwing her Chancellor under the bus for implementing her own policies , policies on which she got elected.
Seriously you couldn't make this up.
How long do you give her in the hot seat jazzy?

Not long anyway.

Bit of a scare this morning, was at the hospital at 4am Mrs D having chest pains

She never gets sick and thought it was heart problems, turns out it’s acid reflux from the antibiotics she is on, as she has never had AR before,
Your job for the weekend now mate is to make sure she wants for nothing.

She been prescribed a pill to deal with it? When Nik was with us, she had one tab to do sommet that would produce AR, and another one to prevent it. Cant remember what it was called, but worked a treat.

It is unbelievable. Her press conference was a car crash - she took 4 questions and walked out. She can't last. Again I asked myself, is that what Tory voters actually wanted. They have made us the laughing stock of the Western world.

Its pathetic. The tories will have her gone soon. They are proper ruthless.

In other news, had an insulation survey bloke round yesterday to see if I qualify for some free stuff for the Go Green thing. After an hour or so crawling around in the loft and drilling a few holes in the walls, he announced quite proudly that he would recommend that I have cavity wall insulation on the old walls, and updated loft insulation. Gratis.

How much difference I will make to global warming and CO2 emissions is probably off set by his drive from Bristol and his massive electric drill, but it might stop a few folk gluing themselves to a motorway.
I’m in the process of going through a similar scheme for my Mum with the intention of getting a new oil burner.

Didn’t realise until a few weeks ago how reliant Irish homes are on oil heating compared to the U.K. (more than two thirds of Irish homes rely on oil heating).

It is absolutely no surprise to me that we are in this position. During the ridiculously long period that it took for her to be elected by .007 % of the population I said time and time again that her economic policies would lead to bankruptcy.
How long has she got AT? Nothing would surprise me now. The Econmist , not exactly a left wing publication this week said that her premiership has the shelf life of a lettuce. So what's that ? 7 days. Could be right. I'd be astonished if she is still PM at Christmas.

Surely the cities are on a grid, leccy or gas? In our village, its either oil, or LPG in an underground tank for heating/water.

Love that Economist quote.

It isn’t just her incompetence, she is downright dangerous in her ideology.

Totally agree. It was painful to watch. I got the impression that if she took another critical question she would burst into tears.
No contrition , no alternative plan , junkies policies that she was elected on , getting rid of Kwartang for doing what she told her. She is worse ,much worse than I thought she was.
The only good thing ( huge damage to the country) is that the Tories are finished for a generation.

Gas is a relatively new thing, as in last 5 years where I am. Uptake isn’t great I believe as it can lead to a lot of problems with old radiators.

Electric for heating purposes here is only ever seen in flats with Economy 7 being the main system. Virtually non existent.

If you have an open fire you use it to save a bit on oil is the most common.

Blimey. Economy 7? That still a thing? Way before me and wife #1 were married, we had it in a flat. Must be 35 years ago.

Open fires/burners are ace mind.

In fact I stand corrected, I can’t get gas heating here but it is being rolled out apparently.

I doubled checked with a couple of Belfast mates and they have a choice of oil or gas but most go for the oil.

My open fire is ready to go and I am just waiting for it to get a bit darker. Even have my movie picked out.

Hi friends. How is everybody Pleased to hear about your further appointments @Terrarian , things seem to be happening for you. Hopefully it will all lead to something positive. Absolutely love the 70s pic @Gwladysover. I'm a few years younger than you (but not many!) and as a teenager loved those Oxford bags trousers. Thought I was the bees knees! My Mum used to dress my two younger brothers in identical floral shirts with round collars and ties that were the same material as the shirt.

How was the cheesecake @blue1948 ? Are you OK @Barnfred 55 ? You've been a bit quiet - I'm guessing G and T Friday is underway. Enjoy. Also no word from our guitar hero globetrotter @fandjango , hope you are OK too. Did you sort the cats out @Vegas Toffee Girl ? I got a lovely dead mouse presented to me while I was working this afternoon. You could say the co-worker brought her own snacks!

No plans for the weekend, apart from the usual overtime. it will all go towards Christmas. Hopefully 3 points tomorrow.
