Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Sorry to here that Sass. Its over 45 years since I lost the last of my grandparents, but it's always a difficult time.
Thanks, darling. It is indeed always difficult, his grandma was a tough lady. She lived through some hard times that make her hardy, but she and I bonded from the very beginning and we loved each other dearly so it is sad to see her go, even if it was for the best since she was very lonely living at a nursing home because my husband’s mum decided not to take care of grandma and instead put her there just before Covid began.

Hello friends. Feeling sad this morning as we find out a bit ago that my husband’s grandma died. She was 97 so it was expected and she died peacefully in her sleep which I’m grateful, but her departure leaves a big hole in our heart as she was the last grandma from his side and my side that was alive, and after losing his uncle just a couple of months ago, it feels as my husband’s mom side of the family are all gone except for her. It just breaks my heart that realization that a whole generation of family members are leaving us behind :( The funeral is suppose to be later this week, maybe Thursday so we’ll be traveling to meet his family for this sad occasion.

I hope everyone’s afternoon goes well. Xxx
Very sad to hear this Sass.

My sincere commiserations to you and all your family x

David Bairstow the last 2 tests. Truly unbelievable.

Watching this new England reminds me of watching the Windies of the 70s. So aggressive and attacking. Brilliant fun.
Back in about 79/80 I went to watch Essex v Yorkshire at Chelmsford. The only thing I can still remember from that day was a bunch of Essex fans continually calling out “ Daaaavid” in what they imagined was a Yorkshire accent throughout his innings. A fine wicketkeeper and batsman, but his son has been phenomenal of late.

Just had a pest control guy around to deal with a waps nest in Mrs J's potting shed.

Showed him where it was and stood back whilst he squirted some powder into the nest . "That's it , don't go in there for 3 hours "

£50 quid for , I kid you not , 3 minutes on the propoerty and that included walking to and from the car to the potting shed.

And he was the cheapest I could get !

You pay for the knowledge and kit as much as anything. £50 to get rid of a wasp nest sounds good to me, 3 minutes or 3 hours.

Presumably he's coming back to clear the nest/dead wasps away?

So sorry to read this, Sass. It’s always sad to when someone passes, I hope you can take comfort in knowing that she lived a long and happy life and passed in her sleep which is all any of us can hope for. She loved you all and was loved in return, remember the happy times, she will always live in your hearts.?
