We have just let our neighbours go home ! They both only speak Finnish so it was a real trial for me as my Finnish is just good enough but not for deep conversation .We all had a great time and they only left to go to sleep (At least that was their story ) .They seemed to enjoy the food so all is great , as we are their only neighbours it helps to get along .

Okay so time for me to rant. The US Supreme Court just overturned Roe vs Wade. It is a sad day in this country for women’s rights over their bodies. But the same SC ruled yesterday for more guns to be freely displayed in public. Really disgusted with the way this country’s policies are going.

What’s worst is that this may not be the end of it. Justice Thomas concurring opinion he he laid out a vision that prompted concerns about what other rights could disappear: The same rationale that the Supreme Court used to declare there was no right to abortion, he said, should also be used to overturn cases establishing rights to contraception, same-sex consensual relations and same-sex marriage. What would be next after that? Interracial marriage? It is not only upsetting but worrying the path this country is heading.

Probably biggest moral dilemma for me. And I ground this by saying I have never raised a daughter but madly in love with the woman I married.

I have a strong Catholic faith and abortion is just about the worst thing in our doctrine.

I haven’t walked the shoes of a family who has had a wife or daughter the victim of assault and I can’t even comprehend the scenario. It’s a belief I hold strong but I’m out of my depth when life dictates a travesty.

Okay peeps I’m getting ready to go out and get a pedicure, looking forward to such pampering. Then after it I’m meeting some ladies friends that I haven’t seen since the pandemic began. I met them all at a preschool Co-Op our kids attended and before Covid we would usually gather a few times per year. It is going to be great hanging out with them and after today’s SC ruling we’ll have plenty to talk about.
