Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

We are on the BBQ trail today with a brandy and coke ,wife does a cold potatoe salad , a la Letitia lol
It's a while since i made a Harvey Wallbanger. I completely forgot that Galliano is 44% proof. I put a large vodka in plus a very good glug of Galliano thinking it's like Pimms. Ha ha. Just made my second one and I've been a bit more conservative. Sorry Jazz, Tory. Well I'm only drinking cheap rose plonk later.

Decided on a few jersey Royals to go with the barbie. Sadly I was unable to separate the frozen burgers so I'm going to have to have 2. I'll eat the second one with salad.

The BBQ wasn't too bad to clean given it hasn't seen the light of day since early September. probably have it about 5.30 so I'll need to put the Jersey's on soon. Nice bit of butter on them and I have some chives in the garden.

Hi folks. You all seem to be having a peaceful and fun weekend. I did overtime this morning then had a marathon grass cutting session - have left it far too long since the last cut. I'm worn out. I have left all the buttercups that have grown along the fence for the bees and butterflies ( that's my story, I'm sticking to it. Nothing whatsoever to do with can't be arsed weeding) Combine that with another brutal gym session last night I don't think I'll be able to move tomorrow! Still need to water all our veggies that we've ben growing. They are doing pretty well. Unfortunately the melon seedlings have not survived being outside - something seems to have eaten them! Daughter's boyfriend has given us sorrell and borage - not a scooby do what you do with them but they are growing nicely too. Any ideas welcome.

Two day week next week when I factor in my non working day with the double Bank Holiday. That's my kind of week. No plans but I do love this time of year - sitting outside late at night while it's still light. I could get used to that. I might suggest a trip to the seaside with Mr F one evening and have fish and chips for tea at the beach.

Me too. The back orchard has been reduced to a flattened mat of brambles and crap after the gardener demolished the 10 ft brambles and out of control everything, but the front needed doing. @Joey66 the bamboo is nicely dying off, and I have put the plants you sent me in last week, so lets see.

Planted out some ground cover/shrubs earlier, so if they take, colour will be ace in the bottom 3rd of the back. Next move, get some lad in to dig a pond out for me. Then I can lob in a modest raised bed for some veg and herbs. Nik and I had planned what we wanted from the garden, and made a decent start on that.

I make it sound like our plot is like Kew Gardens ffs. It isnt, but it is large, by normal standards. Must be double the foot print of next door, which some bloke paid £1/2 million for, then spent another £1/2m on building what he likes instead.

It does make one think. But then I see our farm cats who have known nowhere else. Sake.
