From my perspective, I reckon this season might be top of the pops for 'the most spectacularly disappointing' award. If Merson comes across as anti-Everton, he has every justification for sounding so...we are a disgraceful shambles.

Merson is a rambler and thick as a plank of wood but he always comes across as pretty honest in my view. He probably adds the word 'but' onto his statements about Everton because we are far from perfect, he can't make up false positives about Everton that aren't there, that's what fans do.
