Mentality

The celebration,I can understand it,I can also understand people saying get on with the game, its the complete acceptance of other things that annoy me,the club should have been fuming over a totally inept performance by the officials, not meekly say oh well, look at Moist with Clattenberg, the fella was missing from our matches for ages,we just accept things and try to come across as old school while the rest of the world move on

A small point, some would say trivial and pedantic. They could be right...

But 97th minute equaliser at home, against 10 men.

5 minutes left on the clock.

Instead of getting on with the game going for that winner as the top teams no doubt would, our players go an celebrate with the crowd.

Instinct should be to get the ball out the net and get that winner, not this;

totally agree. Got me as annoyed as the Alli handball (non)decision.

the fact this team have never come from behind to win and have only managed 5 draws in 25 games, shows that the players actually celebrate a goal getting a draw asif they've won the world cup at this point , as they were utterly sure there was not a winner coming. they must turn off after equalising.

As has been said, the Gomes a injury will have played a part in that celebration.

gomes would probly be the only player who would have grabbed the ball and made for the centre circle to get on with it and binned the celebration off had he been on the pitch ..

hes the only player we have with the bigger mentality

I can remember Moyes making a similar point years ago, telling his players that they should be bringing the ball back to look for a winner rather than celebrating an equaliser. But Marco Silva is a complete loser, so what do you expect?
Is this the moyes who set up for 0-0 in virtually every away game . Let’s not try and make out Moyes was this positive attacking manager

I’d also ask the question of where our captain is?

Why has nobody mentioned this yet
You know, watching the second half yesterday and browsing the match thread simultaneously, someone on here mentioned ‘we have no leaders on the field’, and I suddenly thought......I have no idea who our captain is today. Who actually was it? Genuine question.

You people need to get a grip. Probably the worst injury they've ever seen to one of their most popular team mates. Tosun's emotional post after the game summed it up. It was a moment of emotional release, just like for all of us watching. They still tried to go forward for another but give them a moment to let it out. They're humans, not bloody robots.

Im not sure if anybody else has mentioned it but while all that was going on Iwobi was having a fight with the keeper to get the ball restarted as soon as possible.

I didnt notice that, having watched MOTD 2 this morning as my reference point.

But at the risk of being in a minority of 1, maybe 2, what I saw when Cenk scored was an absolute outpouring of emotion that despite everything that has gone on these last 2 games, the team showed enough class and determination to keep going, and getting the equaliser, which we more than deserved. Christ he even beat his own teammate to the ball.

With the events of the night I can understand a that one is for you celebration. But getting on with it and getting a second could have changed our season, given the fans a lift and the players a much need moral boost.

A team managed by Kendall would have a brief celebration.
Then, as one, they'd have run back to get the game restarted. Happened even when Sharp scored that goal at Castle Greyskull
