Meat on the bones

Hope so. It'd be lovely to have a worry free summer :)

No way mate wel be having arguements on the strongest starting 11 its the Everton and GOT way.

Really the finacial situation hasnt changed drasticly from seasons weve made an outlay of 10-15-20 mill if anything frugality could well be the order of the day and we may see our pound go further, considering other clubs may find them selves forced into markets and economic enviroments there not exactly used to but that we have been dealing in for years. I doubht wel be the only club penny pinching this summer.

Lets face it many clubs will need revenue in come the summer, could well be a more realistic market.

Eternal optomist i know.

Remember that we sold McFadden and AJ last year though. That pretty much paid for MoFro. Not sure who we have that's expandable and is worth anything this time round. Must try and stay positive though as we're in such good form at the moment.

Your right Bruce we need to stay positive we haven't finished this year yet.

But things look cloudy on our finances. Look no further than Moyes speaking about Investment is a big must for us just this week. We can't dwell on worring about our bench. We have been very fortunate that our youth has helped us out this year. I expect us to loose more than we gain this summer but we will get a peak from the Irvings & Baxters to compensate. My mouth is watering to see Saha and Yak together. We still will have a quality product on the field even if we lose many fringe players.

That said mate, in fairness both of those players had itchy feet we were very reluctent sellers. Im not overly convinced that our policy last summer was down to funds rather then a bloody mindedness by Moyes not bringing players he thought would not improve the squad.

Like i say i dont see how are access to funds has changed significantly in the sense that years when we have been equally skint weve dropped close to 10 - 20 mill. Im not saying that people dont have a point that money will be scarce, i just dont see a devation to other years when we have done remarkably well in the window, like i say i think theres far more depth to what happened last season then just a matter of being skint.

Well im chooseing not to be going around depressed anyway!

I sincerely hope you'll be proven right. Gave you some pos rep for it, or at least I tried to.:P

I think Moyes has got to take some risks and try and get some cheap, unknown players in. I know it isn't what he wants to do but that's the situation we are in and we can't go into every season with a small squad.

He's proven in the past that he can get these types of players (Arteta, Pienaar) and Steve Bruce has been successful doing it lately. We need to expand our scouting network and look abroad.

Wait for the fotty manager factor to kick in!

I think there will be one marquee signing and a few add ons.

Im finaliseing my wish lis and be dissapointed if we werent in for someof these players not that i think we would get them all but the kind of calibre we should be aiming for:

Naughton (Sheff Utd)
Delph (Leeds)
Johnson (City)
Poulson (Juvetus)
Fernandes (Valencia)
Mbia (Rennes)
Pennant (Free)
Kightly (Wolves)
Downing (Boro)
Johnson (Boro)
Drethne (Madrid)
The Mout

A good haul would be either 1. Fernandes or Johnson, 2. Mbia or Poulson, 3. Pennant or Kightly

Some good players there, I'd certainly take Jermaine Pennant on a free transfer. I'm glad you agree with me and Neb on that.b)

Valencia are in the **** so Fernandes is always an option, hopefully Boro go down so we can get someone like Johnson on the cheap.

Hes been in great form for Pompey and i think he has immense class i think you have to look at the player rather then were he came from, i thought he was also one of their best players against Milan when they jammied the CL in istanbul.

Id love to see proper cover in the midfeild we've been d***ing around with it for two long trying to put square pegs in round holes to fill in for injuries etc, im a massive fan of Felllaini so he and cahill are sound, to have someone who has better natural qualites then Nev would be fantastic and a covering creative spark for Arteta would be sublime. Im tired of coming a cropper due to injuries and subsequent suspension and fatiuqe.

The wings as we all know could do with some options and variance also, id like a more direct player see Pennant Jermaine above, would be lunacey not to go for him on a free.

No way, I'd want Mbia. Let him join Newcastle, City, Spurs, or who ever wants to pay over the odds, so he can support his family(n). I'd take Drenthe, but only on a loan with option to buy. Wouldn't spend a penny on signing him on a permanent deal, without trying him out first. Pennant, I'd take on a free transfer and signing Fernandes would make me extremely happy.
