WR Dean a century on (nearly)

Dean was a hard act to follow.
My Daddy was there to see it,he reminded me often enough. For him after that football was all downhill from then on. He took umbrage at the money Moores put in the team and said we were buying the league. Lucky he didn't live to see City and Chelsea. Remember the last time I asked if he was coming to the match. He said if they were playing in the back yard he'd draw the curtains.

I genuinely do wonder if Everton had more success over the last 30 years, would fans care so much about a player who scored a lot of goals 100 years!! Ago
60 league goals in one season plus 18 goals in 14 games for his country yes it was different rules on offside for him & every striker back then eg it was a level football pitch for every CF ,,
My grandfather & a great Uncle watched him - a complete athlete of his era note when he played for England most times it was 3 pm when Everton kicked off he would miss our games...

Where we a one man team - well yes two seasons later a bad injury to Dean & we were relegated- he came back promoted instantly with him in the side plus a FA Cup win - many clubs tried to get him Arsenal in particular - but Dean refused to leave us - he even trained up his successor as injuries on his ankles too their toll - he also predicted when he left in the future one certain Directot
would ruin our great club he was spot on with that too after the war we were relegated again as star players left our club over that leadership....
