he's developed better, is more aggressive and seems to have an actual role in a game. however, in terms of raw talent he doesnt touch Rodwell.

So although Mccarthy is a better player he's not as talented as Rodwell?? Is that what you're saying??

Thought he was really poor in the first half; giving the ball away frequently and making poor tackles. Improved massively in the second half though. He was due a poor game really.

Had a bit of a shocker yesterday quite honestly. Turned it around once Barkley was on the pitch.

Not a bad group of players when you have these in your squad: Jags (captain), Coleman (Ireland captain, at least part time), Alcaraz (former Wigan captain), Barry (former Villa captain), McCarthy (Once and Future captain?), ... who am I missing?

Or am I being too romantic in my view? I'm a sucker for "team chemistry," not sure how that phrase translates from American to English.

I think I'd rather rest him against Palace and have an Osman/Barry CM...which should be enough against that opposition anyway.

With his game and an inexperienced card happy ref we're asking for trouble playing McCarthy on Saturday. And we desperately need that CM area at full strength against Liverpool.
