Of the two, McCarthy was streets ahead today. Barry had probably his poorest game for us.

I thought Barry was good today, reads the game brilliantly,always in the right place.

I thought McCarthy got better as the game went on.

Yes. But I can see the comparison, in that both players really seem to struggle taking the game by the scruff of the neck.

Sometimes you see the space open up for him and you think DRIVE James, he takes a step or two then thinks better of it. The lads quick and strong, I don't think he knows how good he is.

he's developed better, is more aggressive and seems to have an actual role in a game. however, in terms of raw talent he doesnt touch Rodwell.

i think under Martinez, without Moyes making him a sideways passerand destroying his hamstrings on the training ground, Rodwell could resurrect his career

I think we robbed City when we sold Rodwell, leave him where he is.

McCarthy will only get better, you have already seen the best of Rodwell in 5 minute spells as a sub.
