Prem: M'Bia wants Everton move | Setanta

Stephane Mbia has told Rennes he wants to leave the club in order to accelerate a move to Everton.

Mbia is said to be a huge target of Everton this summer, who are ready to pay in the region of €12 million for the holding midfielder.

David Moyes first trailed the 23-year-old last summer, and it is that long-term interest that has Mbia desperate to join The Toffees.

"I have been aware of Everton's interest since last year when I almost joined them," he said.

"I am keen to join them because, if what is reported is true, they have said that they want me and that they value me as a player.

"I am waiting on news. I have not heard anything yet, but for me it is time to move on in my career.

"I have already told the club (Rennes) of my desire to leave but they have the final say. They know and understand my position."

A proper holding player is our most important signing this summer, we can replace Carsley and sort out our right side with one signing (by allowing Neville and Arteta to be used there).

This M'Bia one is a strange case, Moyes has said his name out-loud in more than one interview, which is unusual for him, and it seems there's an endless stream of journalists lining up to listen to him talk about wanting to join us, but we never actually seem to make a firm bid. Also the Echo said about a week ago that it's 'highly unlikely' that we'll renew our interest in him.

I'd love us to sign him before I go on holiday.

Everton's hopes of signing Stephane M'Bia from Rennes are now in the balance after it was revealed a 'big French club' had come in for him.

After apparently being in pole position to sign the Cameroon international midfielder, Rennes Chief Executive Pierre Dreossi has said another club has made an enquiry.

Earlier in the week it seemed a deal ahd been agreed with Everton, but Dreossi told Ouest France: 'A big French club has come into the reckoning'.

The club is thought to be Lyon, as they have seen a number of high profile midfield departures.

Theres a lad whos claiming to be IAMTHEYAK knocking around cyber space, claiming the Mbia deal is done, Mouthino deal is on the way and there is a takeover in the pipline as soon as DK is sorted! Phil Green is up to his Knees in all of the above.

Guess we will see.

Did he just stop posting on Kipper one day? Oh I remember...was it because the old members hacked his account etc?

That guy knew Imatheyak knew his stuff. He always told us the teams days ahead and also predicted a few departures and arrivals. If it really was him who said this? (given his account being hacked before we don't know for sure) I would believe him. (y)
To use BK's famous phrase, watch this space :D

Yeah that's the thing. I never used Kipper till the week of the derby last season.

He said Arteta was out with a shoulder inury or something, and was amazed he got it right! Apparently it was a normal thing though :P

I doubt it was him though to be honest.

On Kipper after he left there was about 10 imitations of him!

He had his account password as everton apparently and some genius figured it out and started posting bs transfer rumours as if it was him

Can they just get it done already, thought we were 75% of the way there in Jan can't be too hard to get it all back up and running and put through can it!
