Martinez wants to sell

To be honest mate, not many people outside of Everton ( fans wise ) rate Felli very

highly ...or Baines even by a fair
few.... we rate them higher as their
worth to us is much much more.

But if we made them available, at a price that every team in the prem could afford, and every team in the Prem thought they would realistically join them (which must be the case with McCarthy - although obviously not with these two) then we would be inundated with offers. As it is, we just have offers from the league champions.

Turns out i did have to explain the difference afterall.

Fans who've bothered to watch him & actually know what they're talking about rate him highly in my experience. You can't take the opinion of internet whoppers, who've based their judgement on the size of his hair & Lawro pointing out his elbows on MOTD ffs.

& anyone who doesn't rate Baines, shouldn't be talking about football full stop, as they're patently clueless.

I'm just saying it as it is.... using others argument on here.....nobody else has shown an interest in either of them... only their ex manager who is desperate for signings.

Fellaini probably wants to go. If RM says "not for sale at any price" he risks MF throwing a wobbler. Chances are he has said to him if we get a good offer we will sell you but if not we're trusting you not to be a divvy and start acting like Suarez. That way we either get good money or keep a player who is still on side with the manager. Obviously a balancing act but he's probably doing the sensible thing.

I reckon you're about right there mate, if they match our valuation then you can go, until then please just get on with it.

The outcome here could well depend on his attitude today / tomorrow, if his name isn't on the team sheet, he's gone. If it is & he plays like a drain, he's probably also gone. We'll see how honourable he is here, my money would be on him doing the right thing, but we'll see.....

If he turned round and said he is not for sale at any price then a week later sold him he'd look a prat. Every player has a price, if the valuation the club have for that player is met he will be sold. Simple as that, no hidden agendas or smokescreens.

I hope he stays but expect him to go.

If he turned Round? Round isn't the buyer at Old Trafford is he? Hmmm, interesting

Read my reply - totally different situation. We are a top 6 club, these 2 players arent currently stuck in the championship.

At Everton Fellaini is highly regarded, but obviously not as highly regarded elsewhere. Even David Moyes has tried to sign at least three other midfielders before he finally turned to Fellaini...so has he bid for him because he is turning desperate or because he rates him highly.

If James McCarthy comes he will prove in a very short time what a good player he is and this forum will be littered with posters having to accept that in fact they really do know very little compared to full time football managers.

However,I think that even if Fellaini is sold we may not see McCarthy at Everton for two reasons.
1. Unlike Moyes I think Martinez will treat his former club with more respect and will only deal with them if he can agree a fee with the owner that is acceptable and results in the club being happy to sell.
2. I think Whelan may overvalue the player and Martinez may not meet that valuation and won't try any underhand tactics like trying to unsettle the player.

I reckon this transfer season has probably been a bit humbling for Fellaini
He was there 'on the cheap' ready to be picked by any club with spare change available (considering his talent)
Yes everyone will agree that he wants to go play champions league, but as we've seen he won't kick up a fuss about it- if the correct offer doesn't come in he will stay. And if this does happen (I don't think it will) then he might be really motivated to prove everyone wrong this season- I'm sure it hurts a bit for him to not have anyone buy you on the cheap and then have bids come in for that low after.

You are spot on, pal.

This is half the problem and the reason why Moyes felt comfortable making the "derisory offer".

And all this week the posters on here have been longing for another big money club, like Arsenal or Chelsea or Spurs or City (there are plenty of thm in this country let alone clubs from abroad) to get involved and an auction for Fellaini in particlar to commence.

No further bid has there been.

Plus anyone looking at the reaction of United fans will know that they are distinctly underwhelmed and regard neither of our boys as what they like to call "marquee signings".

If it wasn't for Moyes, there would be no current ballyhoo about Baines and Fellaini leaving.

Because no other club above us in the table seems interested in signing them.

Explain to me what your point is then mate...in simple terms so that I can have no
doubt as to what you are saying.

Ok. Only about 5 clubs in this country have even the slightest chance of tempting Baines or Fellaini away. With a handful more abroad. One of these clubs has bid.

20 clubs in this country would have a decent chance of tempting McCarthy away, and countless more overseas, seeing as he is stuck in the championship, and will be on a rubbish wage. No clubs have even enquired.

After reading his latest interview along with his previous recent ones, I'm 100% convinced that he wants to sell Fellaini.

He keeps referring to valuations, meeting them and having to think once the valuation is met.

It's basically saying pay the valuation and he's yours. It's see through.

He obviously has a replacement lined up and is desperate to land him. My personal opinion of course.

I wouldn't say he wants to sell. I would say he is being bluntly honest and if you read what he says he is being very pragmatic while at the same time taking a swipe at Moyes and Utd.. It's no different to what Liverpool are saying about Suarez (give us 50m or he isn't leaving). But there is no point Martinez coming out saying the players will not be leaving under any circumstance because every playr wants European football and we can't offer that. And it is clearly a point of principal...they won't entertain the low-ball offers. I think a 25m bid for Fellani plus add-ons might make be enough, but I still think he won't leave until next summer.

No clubs have enquired for Baines or Felli either.

Martinez knows mcarthy well and if he goes in for him it will be because he trusts him and thinks he can do a job... like you I don't think he is a 15 million pound player but I do trust Martinez as his knowledge is far superior than mine .

I dare say a good few clubs have signed 25 million pound midfielders in this window... not 1 has bid for fellaini... it's the same argument just at differing levels.
