Martinez - Thoughts So Far?

Good noises there from Martinez.

I'd be massively impressed if we kept everyone and added a couple to boot.
May sound strange to say but I would have taken that and 3 draws over losing them on the back of 3 wins #longterm

Martinez's substitutions are really starting to annoy me now, against WBA it took until the 71st minute to bring on Kone and Naismith, didn't bother to make a third change.

Today, Deulofeu was only given 5 minutes to try and make an impact.

Moyes was labelled a ditherer but Roberto leaving it far too late to bring on players from the bench when the game is crying out for a change. Frustrating.

Agreed. Sadly I don't think we'll hold onto both Baines and Fellaini.

Bit more hopeful now we'll maybe hang onto Baines and add two plus a loan deal. I know I shouldn't torture myself like this!

Pros
*He's put his faith in Barkley, who has been a revelation.
*We've dominated the three league teams we've played so far both in terms of shots and possession.
*Two clean sheets.
*Open and transparent with the media/fans.
*He didn't inherit a free-scoring team (we failed to score in 3 of our last 6 games last season).
*Emphasis on passing rather than percentage long balls.
*Kone and Deulofeu will improve. Gibson and Alcaraz still to return.
*We might have won the games with better referees.

Cons
*We don't seem to want to use the aerial option even though it might sometimes be our best route to goal.
*Jelavic and Mirallas were our top-scorers in pre-season but they've both been withdrawn in all three league games. Maybe it's worth leaving them on to see if they come up with a goal?
*He's used his squad well in pre-season and in the league cup but I'm not convinced that Joel, Heitinga, Oviedo and Naismith are providing genuine competition to the first XI.
*He experimented with tactics over the summer as well but now seems to have reverted to Moyse' tried a trusted 4-2-3-1 even though we're struggling to make a breakthrough in games.

He could argue that we're already stronger than when he took over. If anything, it hints to me that Fellaini and Baines might be staying.

Yes, this is definitely a concern. It's early days though, maybe he'll get on top of it before long. Can't judge him for at least another 15 games IMHO, more than that if he doesn't get the new faces in that he's after.

Lets face it We're down amongst the dead men already and in the thick of a relegation dogfight.

But none if this matters to Martinez who will persist with his tika taka until it sends us down and blows 15m on Joe Allen mk 2

Or it's setting the groundwork for:

"We sold Fellaini to bring in players I feel can do a more complete job for the club. James McCarthy will be an integral part of the project at Everton. As I said at the weekend, I believe the club are a lot stronger now than when we began the transfer window."

he wasn't the right man. he isn't the right man. he wont be the right man

said it at the start and sticking too it

although ultimately, no one is likely to be the right man until BK goes, and investment is brought upon

He said: "You always want to keep your good performers and we have had interest in our players which I see as a fantastic complement. We are in a very good financial position and we don't have to sell to balance any books and that gives you a good strength.

"You never know what is going to happen but we are looking strong to finish the window in a stronger position than we were when it opened."

Martinez indicated that he would still aim to boost his squad, adding: "Hopefully. We will try and use the window in our favour."

I interpret that as saying "We want to keep Baines and Fellaini but if the offer is right we'll take it. If not I'd still like to add someone else to improve us."

cant stand fans like you either. very nieve

if you think 3 points from 3 less than average sides, and one of the most dyer shows of football against Stevenage ever is good enough then you need to go and buy a kop season ticket son
