We're in a relegation battle. We've won four league games at home this season. We were out of the league cup first game against Swansea, whom we've never lost to before. We were
out of the FA Cup first tie to a team who were subsequently thrashed by West Brom.
Hammered in Europe by a side who are nothing special.
More money spent in a summer than any manager in our history. He brought Traore, Astu, McGeady, Alcaraz and Kone to the club. He gave Barry and Hibbert three year contracts.
We've seen some of the most dull, tedious, predictable, negative football possible.
Baffling team selections. Poor or non existent use of substitutes.
Very poor man management of some players.
Pretending everything in the garden is "phenomenal" when we've suffered four defeats on the trot. Blaming bad luck, referees and injuries. Not defending properly at corners. Our own corners resulting in the ball being in our half within 15 seconds. Total lack of planning for the vital pre-season period. Players constantly suffering the same types of injury. Obvious lack of fitness.

Even in his much praised first season, we suffered our heaviest defeat against the RS for over 30 years and bottled it when it really mattered.

We finally see a change of formation on Sunday and are rewarded with our best display of the season. Fast forward 4 days and in comes and back comes the formation that has failed us so many times this season. Surely if he was going to change it we should have played a 4-3-3 ala the derby and shut up shop. Hindsight is a great thing, but the decision to start alcaraz over stones was laughable. Atsu has barely started a game all season and yet is picked in arguably our biggest game of the season in Europe. But the question is why should we be surprised, as tonight's team and performance has been systematic of many of our performances this season.

I reckon I'm probably one of the least effected on here tonight. I was fully expecting it, we're plop.

I always knew it was going to be tough over there but we rather shot ourselves in the foot (or Alacaraz did) But deffo not good friend. Now can we sort out our league position?

Or that the league is full of more dross that you can get 4th with 61 points.

Doesnt work though does it. If you've got 5 sides all getting over 70 points it just means they're all picking up loads of points off the sides below. If you get 4th with 61 it shows the other teams have taken a lot of points iff the top teams. 4th us better than 5th, points are irrelevant when you finish up empty handed.

Stones obviously wasn't fit enough and had a 'mare in the last European away game.

OK here's a few. Lukaku, McCarthy and Besic.

He hasn't bought great when looking in the bargain bin but his bigger money signing have been pretty good. Plus he likes to buy young talent when spending money which I also like.

Is McCarthy good? I keep hearing people say he is but we keep conceding loads and he's had one shot on target this season.

You can't say he "spotted" Lukaku. Chelsea paid £17m for him when he was 18 ffs, he was already an established talent

So is that an in, or an out?
