Of course he wont - you dont get the sack for being mid-table at a club that spends relatively **** all.

It's not a mid table squad though is it Dave so we have to be fair in criticism. Whether it's a small amount compared to the big guns doesn't compare, he's spent a few bob so I think it's only fair that it's questioned whether he's the man to spend the dollar. Let's not lower our already kicked the shyt out of standards as a club. This squad should be top 5/6 and have failed emphatically.

I would prefer him gone but I'm hoping that my attitude changes, which it will if results improve and performances improve. Another win and I reckon he needs to start the clear out and starting blooding in youngsters for the remaining 4-6 games so he has an idea of what he needs in the summer.

Results and performances will determine how long he's at Everton and there's little room for sentiment in this business of Football these days. I think the board will probably give him some leeway and cut him slack. About 15 other boards would have given him the hook by now.

He will NEVER be sacked

If he leaves, it's because he wants to go

There's no way we're sacking a manager with so much time on his contract

It costs money to do that. Money Kenwright will not be willing to spend

That's why it was ridicious to give him a five year cotract when the initial one was four. It was one good season. It will be wiser to award him this summer if he continues to do well.

Last season I was one who thought he was a footballing genius. I really wish I still felt the same. I never knee jerk, but having watched us this season, it's an out for me.
In my opinion he's gone from being a genius, able to make impactful substitutions that changed games to inept, a manager trying to force players in to positions that they don't want to play.
Here's my reasons for wanting him out on the last 12 months evidence.
He wasted the pre-season. He should have been focusing on Everton, not basking in the limelight of his first season.
No pre-season games to get ready for the start of this campaign. No wonder we started badly.
Barry - 3 year deal.
No wingers brought in - except Atsu. Lennon when he realised how desperate we were at Christmas.
Keeps playing Alcaraz, Kone and Atsu - sorry, none are good enough to wear a blue shirt and I always want every Everton player to be a success.
Why play Barkley and Naismith in the same line up. It never works! I can see it, you can see it, why can't he see it?
His ramblings after the game...many times I think he's watched a different match.
Howard - fella needs dropping at times. Grow some balls Mr Martinez and drop players when they aren't on form.

Tbh, there's to many reasons now. I could go on forever and all points have been covered. But these wind me up.

Rant over.

I dont fully buy into the 'he's got a belting squad' line, to be perfectly honest.

Yes, we have players who cost a few bob and are top drawer (for me, the one's he himself bought: McCarthy and Lukaku), but I'm looking round that core of first team players and thinking its a massive conceit we've bought into over their strength relative to other teams in this league. We knew under Moyes it was an ageing squad and needed overhauling, IMO, that's one of the reasons for this season being so bad: not reconstructing it last summer significantly. Even our 'star' players like Mirallas are, in all truthfulness, patchy players.

So overall I dont think this viewpoint that has it that Roberto has pissed a great squad up against the wall and blown our 'natural advantage' is one that resonates too well.

Now we are safe and we all know he will still here at the start of next season. He better learns from this and make the right signings...we should go back to where we belong.

Back to where we belong is 6th-8th? Forgive me for not getting too excited about that.

I realise its financial importance, but finishing 11th/12th (which is where we'll finish this season, IMO) and finishing 6th-8th is all the same to me: nowhere.

Your opinion mate which I respect but don't agree with in this instance. If we sit back and defend the quality of football last season and say that's a reason to give him time, it proved it was the 5th best squad over the course of a season. Your right regarding he didn't make necessary changes and recruits in the summer but there's no way this squad should have gone from 5th to 13th/14th. Martinez has ballsed up big time this season but being fair and like a few folk say, if we can enjoy last season, wrote off this joke of a season, he deserves another season....
Or as I've stated previously 6 games next season ;)

Oh we shouldn't have fallen this far, no...though I reckon that was due in large part because he got caught up in the 'importance' of the EL and failed to dose our effort in all competitions earlier in the season.

The squad thing though, to me at least, is correct. We really dont have as good as what we think here...and this season is proof positive of it for me. A lot of ropey performers who cant handle two matches per week.

not saying 6th is good enough in the end but consistently being in Europe is what we need.
Not if this season is anything to go by!

If we were in it next season I'd hope that Martinez would play understrength teams until we needed vital points to make the KO phase...and if we couldn't do it that way then hard ****, we get knocked out and concentrate on the domestic programme.

Will agree with a lot of "ropey" ( I could use a far stronger word than that but fear of a ban we will stick to yours ) performers week in week out.

Need to hit the ground running and I mean day one of ore season and getting the players look fit, drilled and hungry to win.
