Annoys me this notion that he's just using us to fulfill some sort of personal crusade. His principles are based on the fact that he believes playing a certain way can bring success.

I dont think he is using us for some sort of crusade. Just that maybe the expectations of a club like Everton are ever so slightly, maybe arrogantly in these modern days of football, are different than those of Swansea and Wigan.

To me, it just feels he that someone has had a word. No idea who. No idea if I am right.

The fans did. Several times.

And it seems that he listened?

Let's hope so. We were grim today but at least we still went direct and it got us both goals.

What I'm worried about is that when the season starts afresh and the pressure is off, he'll revert to type, because if we'd have tippy tappied today we'd have got absolutely leathered.

Maybe he's just learning mate? I hope so. I'm sick of our full backs taking to the back foot when facing an attacker.

When Giroud scored the equalizer at Goodison earlier in the season, I was screaming for Baines to get into his man. Instead, he just backed off. The cross came in, and it was crap, it cleared the whole defence, and they put the assisting cross in by picking it up on the other flank. Baines should have stopped the initial cross coming in.

Most worrying is Gibson, Osman Kone, anything good about todays performance (not much) isn't his preferred formation/lineup. Thursday was his A1 team and tactics. It's Howard in goal, Barry plus another defensive mid Naismith and Barkley plus one of any number of wide player behind Lukaku.

I called it before Newcastle, it is absolutely no coincidence we won both games that Barry was suspended for. We also won the QPR home game. So out of the last 4 prem wins, Barry has missed 3 of them. Gibson is going quick to Lukaku and their is enough quality in that one transaction to outweigh the fact we have no idea what we're doing in attack or defense. But what will be the lineup for the next game? Barry will be back.

I dont buy Roberto is learning. Barry's disciplinary record and Distin's falling out have saved him from getting relegated. A clever Roberto who is learning benches Howard and Barry. He won't do either. Had Barry been available he would have played both games and we may have drawn or lost both of them. He got lucky, but unlike good managers he won't learn from it.

Don't say that mate, because it closes down the "Martinez will never change his way of playing" line of defence.

It's all so contradictory most of the arguments for this manager of ours.

Haha! He is frustrating. No doubt. But I am sure someone has had a word.

Ok, so I know Moyes had his faults, but does anyone remember him consistently playing favorites or picking players that were obviously on horrible form or simply not good enough anymore like Martinez does?

I think that bothers me almost as much as his not ever playing two wingers.

I'm calling on the mods to look upon all the post-match poll votes and this and perma-ban anyone who has changed their mind more than once.

Because really, you should have only changed your mind once, if at all. That being you were Martinez In, but based on consistently bad results you decided he wasn't the right man and changed your vote to Martinez Out. Or like me, you reckon he should be given some time to see if he can turn things around next season and as such have kept your vote as Martinez In all season.
