And? Everyone knew we could win by playing defensive, crap ugly football. We don't need martinez for that.
I dunno how that's a positive.
I didn't say it was better, but it is a positive that he's trying something different.

Annoys me this notion that he's just using us to fulfill some sort of personal crusade. His principles are based on the fact that he believes playing a certain way can bring success.
I dont think he is using us for some sort of crusade. Just that maybe the expectations of a club like Everton are ever so slightly, maybe arrogantly in these modern days of football, are different than those of Swansea and Wigan.
To me, it just feels he that someone has had a word. No idea who. No idea if I am right.
The fans did. Several times.
And it seems that he listened?
Dont say that though mate, because it closes down the 'Martinez wont change' line of attack. And it seems that he listened?

we still went direct and it got us both goals.
Let's hope so. We were grim today but at least we still went direct and it got us both goals.
What I'm worried about is that when the season starts afresh and the pressure is off, he'll revert to type, because if we'd have tippy tappied today we'd have got absolutely leathered.
And it seems that he listened?
Don't say that mate, because it closes down the "Martinez will never change his way of playing" line of defence.
It's all so contradictory most of the arguments for this manager of ours.
Ok, so I know Moyes had his faults, but does anyone remember him consistently playing favorites or picking players that were obviously on horrible form or simply not good enough anymore like Martinez does?
I think that bothers me almost as much as his not ever playing two wingers.
