My view, for what it is worth.
Enjoyed the EL immensely. We have been brilliant, other than Thursday, and he can take some pelters for that. But not all of them.
In fact, I guess he has taken us further in Europe than since the ECWC?? Maybe not. Sure I will be put right.
This seasons domestic campaign has been very, very annoying at times, not least, over Christmas. To say the least.
But. He has shown, to me at least, that whatever went on in the Winter, (Eto'o/Disten? Dunno), SEEMS to have been addressed, and I have seen a more flexible approach in the last few weeks, maybe kick started by the fans in the Kiev home game, maybe not. But today was a ballsy, ugly, away win at a struggling side, which, lets be honest, could easily have been a draw, maybe a loss.
He appears to me to be have been jolted into some reality that this is not his hobby horse, this is Everton. And all that means.
Managers, not just in football, get respect from their charges when they show pragmatism, and an acceptance that sometimes, the most laudible of ambition, can be tempered in times of need. And listening to those around you can actually be a sign of strength, not weakness.
For me, the last 2 seasons will live long in the memory. (not over yet ffs, but you get the gist). Best PL performances for years in one. Best European performances for years in the other.
That must count for something. It does for me.
