Lets do the sensible thing, lets forget everything that has gone before and judge the man on the remaining 9 games.

No excuses left, no Europa games, 9 games.

Over to you Bobby, impress me.

Why though? They're effectively dead rubbers. I don't judge managers on meaningless games.

For us to go down at this point would make Martinez the worst manager of all time anywhere, given the squad quality and run in. We'll end on 40+ points, but that doesn't mean he's bulletproof by any means.

and Wigan players on Championship wages does eventually Championship team.
Martinez has been here 2 seasons......1st season was superb 2nd season not....not enough time in my book really

And what wages were our lads on when Moyes took over? Whilst the likes of villa, Newcastle, Spurs on top of the top 4 were paying double the wages.

Their simply is no comparison pound for pound moyes is twice the manager Martinez is. I wouldn't want moyes back as we have moved on and he shown himself as a tit when he went to Utd. But I won't use that as some excuse to big martinez up.

The issue for me is theirs too much of that, it stinks of someone making a case for their lousy partner because their ex wasn't a superstar either. We are a big club with big name players, for me we are facing years of barren midtable finishes ala villa and Newcastle with mid table players like Cleverly, naismith and barry. If we don't get rid and shake it up I fear for this club, we ain't a RS or Spurs who can risk that and buy themselves out of trouble with a new starting 11

Redcoats though mate.

So you want him sacked then?

Thats no problem, you have already made your mind up, nothing will convince you otherwise?

I wish I could make my mind up, hence I feel giving him at least the next 9 games.

He might not even need 9 games, I mean we could lose the next 3, then im sure it will only be Davek saying give him more time.

I mean I agree in principle, but I haven't really seen any signs this year that we don't have an inferiority complex and that we are looking for ways to win stuff.

I don't think Martinez has the inferiority complex but it seems the players have. I believe he will always look to win games even if it backfires. I can't see him looking for a point or defending for 90 mins hoping to get a break. I think he is focussed on achieving things at Everton (not saying he will) rather than looking for a decent placing in the league. Like I am saying I think he will try but succeeding is different. That mindset is enough for me at the moment to be on his ride.

Liverpool at home, chelsea away and arsenal away were parking the bus jobs, weren't they?

I dunno, we've been pretty bad in cups under him. Now it's a small sample size and like I said I felt that he would do well in cups here given the wigan precedent but it seems to be hope rather than evidence here, tbh..

QPR, Swansea, Burnley, Villa, Sunderland, Southampton, United, West Ham, Spurs

Aren't dead rubber games by any stretch.

They are by the very nature of them (I'm not sure why you've bolded some of them either!). If we can't pick up four points from those games, we're well and truly hopeless, and I think that's all we need to stay up.

A dead rubber is when there's nothing meaningful to play for. Sure, league places etc. but the chance to make a dent in terms of getting into Europe etc. - actual achievements - is long gone.

Nah, we're not going down. Get one more win than put out the kids. Doesn't matter. Seasons over.
It matter because it will probably make a difference to the talent we can attract. The league performance isn't so important but it would be good to finish the season on a high plus the prize money makes a big difference.

In a way I sort of agree but I'm so divided about Martinez and really fear making the wrong choice and giving him the window and then seeing Naismith, Barry, Lennon and Clevery in the starting 11 next year.

Because if that is our starting 11. We will struggle to stay up.
