I still can't fathom how Alcaraz & barry remained on the field 3-1 was rescuable.. I don't think he's got enough strings to his bow to be a top manager.
Some mind boggling decisions alright. Personally, I think we set up all wrong and should have gone 433 with Besic ratting away in midfield too.

Gung ho got us a seeing to.

Still, we shouldn't forget that this is Martinez's first time managing in Europe too.

We won 6 matches drew 2 and lost 2 seeing off some very decent teams along the way.

CB unit needs sorting out. Two in I'd have this summer. Distin and Alcarez out; two in one bought, possibly get Browning or Galloway in the frame...but defo one very good purchase. I'd go for Van Dijk myself. Also we need a strike partner for Lukaku and a playmaker.
We also need two wingers.

That analysis comes after the season and by all the organisation not just the team and its management.

We need a serious sit down in the summer in order to determine what the fundamental cause was and to sort that out.
To be fair, that analysis should be taking place ad hoc throughout the season, where are we? why? why are we not winning games? Whya re we conceding, how do we score more.. you can't wait till the end of the season.

Serious sit down-> What have they done all day and every day at Finch Farm for the past 9 months? The trip out to the Middle East for a week during the middle of the season?

Determine the cause -> The players have known since pre season.

I still don't think stones was fit enough to play. That being said he should've changed Barry at HT for gibbo or besic. Also he's staying because he's on a long deal and kenwright won't sack him. Whether that will work out remains to be seen but the results of a forum poll (for or against) have no bearing on the situation

To be fair to Atsu, he looked one of our most promising.
The whole team where rubbish. They couldn't handle the pressure and lost their heads. Playing on a dodgy pitch and in cauldron of noise didn't help.

Change the tactics, formation and players wouldn't have mattered. We where beat before we stepped on the pitch.

I would put Martinez currently about evens with Moyes.
Not Everton Moyes though - United Moyes.

Its not great by any stretch, but I think given time, United would of turned the corner and actually done well under Moyes, I think Martinez is capable of doing well here, he just needs to get across the finish line this season imo, replace the dross with a few key, cheap, signings and come back without fear, which seems to cripple his decision making.

Not a fear to not go forwards, but to change the system, to drop certain key players etc.

I'd be happy if that was the case. This way they all make the decision on the way forward and it does change. Whether going forward includes Bobby or not I don't have an issue as long as mistakes are realized and changes are made. This will be the test for him though as I hope they make it clear that while bottom half may have been ok for Wigan it is well below our standards and he has to sort this out rather than play the game in a way he believes it should be played. New defensive coach would be first on my list as the current one (whoever it is) isn't up to scratch. Maybe bring Irvine back as well.

Changing almost on a day to day basis back and forth? That's not going with the facts that's kneejerking all over the shop.

Here's the last 4 polls on this forum which all took place within 18 days of each other:

1st March (post Arsenal) - Martinez IN 55% Martinez Out 45%
4th March (post Stoke) - Martinez In 38% Martinez Out 62%
15th March (post Newcastle) - Martinez In 65% Martinez Out 18%
19th March (post Kiev) - Martinez In 29% Martinez Out 79%

How can that be seen as people coming to sensible and consistent decisions?

It's blowing whichever way the wind is blowing.
