It's what happens when we're in a bad place: everything is interpreted bleakly and critically...with the aid of the usual suspects turning and twisting any and every remark to use against the manager they've hated for two years, of course.

Thanks.You really have no idea.
The fact that, having built his second team, he saw it destroyed in a financial meltdown but stood back, kept quiet and took his £3M a year and limped on...and then had a go at a group of Evertonians for questioning the running of the club. On the footy front: the constant resort to direct football was too wearing. He had players who could play and refused to let them play for all but a few games when the pressure was off.
In short: he was a dead weight offering no inspiration. A limited manager who when he started to criticise supporters just about pulled the plug for me.
...same for any manager.
I agree bill won't sack him whatever happens.Unless we're in proper danger of going down with a few games to go, Martinez won't be sacked. Kenwright won't pay the compo required to buy off his contract.
Martinez has had one great season, and one crap one. Hopefully we can just make the best of the Europa League now and rebuild for next season, come December next season is when the jury will well and truly be out.
Whether you want him in or out, that's how it is I'm afraid.

Pfffft!!
Loyal my arse.
"Booo hooo, we're not 5th again...boo hooo, get someone else in....boo hoooo". *stamps feet*

What makes you think he will change things in the summer as he looks so lost now.
Bearing in mind we don't have much money.
I know the tv money is there but transfer fees have also gone stupid.
I get your point.Didn't say that he would, just saying he deserves the time to show whether or not he can.
2.5 years and 5 transfer windows seems like a decent time frame to see whether the club is indeed moving forward under his management.
You have to bear in mind Humble that Davek doesn't actually 'go the game'. That probably explains a lot about his current disposition.Starting to wonder if you're actually genuinely unstable...
NOTHING of this sentiment is based on NOT being 5th (or higher than we are, whatever), it's about the standard of football that's currently being played in comparison to last years, which - as is known - was ace for the most. It's about the gigantic dip in tact/style/substance/acumen/passion....again, whatever. I even get the 'second season syndrome' which you seem so fond of referencing...what I don't get is the reasons behind the dip, that's what a LOT of us are questioning and concerned about...
I rather find it abhorrent that you can question the level of loyalty & support shown by other members, no matter in which camp they sit. If it goes teats up over the next few games I'd be uber-curious to hear what you have to say then. Hopefully it won't come to that though eh...
But what you can't do, Dave, is simply go 'we are where we are, don't worry, there's next year'.
You can't do that without asking WHY we're at this juncture?
Though, actually, that's what you seem to be doing...

All I'm reading there ^^^ is that you accept a dip would happen and that we couldn't stay at that high from last season, but that regardless of the overhleming probability we'll be ok you think it's acceptable that our manager should face the sack.Starting to wonder if you're actually genuinely unstable...

That's an absurd position.
