Its how you define good football though isn't it. The best football is the football that wins the most games. Anything else is just subjective. Try telling Chelsea fans of Mourinho's record breaking 05 title team that Arsenal played better football then them. They'd laugh in your face. Football is not about flicks, nutmegs, and stupid stepovers. It is about scoring goals, and stopping the other team scoring goals. I've had some absolutely amazing nights at Goodison where we've not seen much of the ball but defended brilliantly and got a win and the crowd has been wild. Am I supposed to believe that is not more fun than watching Barcelona thrash some no mark Spanish side with a load of tiki taka? The entertainment from football comes from emotion. If we were losing the same amount of games that we are now but showboating all over the place no one would be any happier. Similarly if we were one nilling our way to the title with Stoke esque football everyone would be absolutely loving it. The best managers put results before style. Winning is all that matters for Mourinho, he constructs a brutal defense then gets talented forwards working hard to create a team that won't lose many games. People say they are boring but yet again he'll pick up a league title. Meanwhile Martinez et al are insisting its his way or no way. Perhaps the best place to look is Barcelona themselves who have now abandoned their sacred tiki taka for Liverpoolesque kick and rush up to Suarez and Messi. Even they can flex butt apparently Everton cannot. Baffling.

Hold up.

Has he really said something along the lines of 'winning isn't everything'?

Not really, but theres no story if we dont twist his words.

“Winning a trophy at any price can be very costly in the long run,’’ he explained. “Of course you have to defend, but you want to be creative, constructive.” He will not “park the bus” to secure results to win a trophy.

As you didn't like Moyes and wanted him gone I take your view with a pinch of salt.

Moyes built the team. That can't be denied. There has to be parts of it still in frutation last season. If you wanna believe that Bobby klicked his fingers and they started doing everything differently fair enough. But your wrong. Habits take a while to change. Good or bad!

Yes the players bought into it. Yes Bobby did great. Of course he did and deserves a lot of credit. He made us a team that others were not expecting and didn't know how to play against. This year they do know exactly how to play against us and Bobby has no answer. And doesn't seem to think he needs an answer.

No bias from me. I was a fan of Moyes up until his last couple of years when I got a bit sick of some of his habits and thought we needed a freshening up.

He was brilliant for us up to a point where he simply couldn't take us any further. Martinez provided that bit extra that we needed last season and in any other season we'd probably have been playing CL football this year.

Now that we're struggling, to suggest that it's simply because of the 'Moyes traits' leaving the team is complete conjecture. That's the only thing I'm taking issue with here - I have nothing against Moyes' tenure here nor do I have anything against people who want Martinez gone. I do think it's premature but everybody is entitled to their opinion. He's had a shocker this season however I do believe, and hope he will turn it around next season.

Interesting note regarding the poll result.

The GOT poll is currently 64.2% Martinez Out, 35.8% Martinez In.

Toffeeweb currently has a poll going with nearly 4000 votes tallied:

60%ish of Blues seem to want him gone at the moment. Nearly 4000 fans is a decent amount.

Only 10% still fully behind him with 30% still scratching their chins.

A massive week for his Everton career this one. 2 wins and the World looks a different place, 2 defeats and he'll be on his arse. Fine lines and all that.....

Fair doo's if you believe martinez will turn it around. I don't believe he will because he won't change any of the principles that are costing us so severely this season.

If everyone thought the same it would be a boring world and forums would be pointless! Haha..

One week of Davek singling out plotters and bedwetters and they would be up to 40%.

Graeme Jones says when he played for Milwall it was all heart and passion whereas today he likes to play technical and skilful. Well, I say we need to play with heart and passion and fight tooth and nail for every ball rather than sit back and wait for our opportunity. We need to get in teams faces and play with aggression and fight. There's no time for patient play or technical play in the last ten games, we have to play like the dogs of war. Will we though?
