I for one am over the moon we've got him, this is his step up, his chance to prove he can be a top manager.

People banging on about Pereira etc seriously need to look at Everton as a whole. None of the candidates fitted the bill as far as I'm concerned, other than Martinez.

Plays attractive football, isn't a bottler, works well under a very tight budget, an actual manager rather than a Head coach, tactically astute, speaks better English than Moyes and a genuinely nice human being. I could go on.

And those fans who started slating him on his first day aren't fans of Everton as far as I'm concerned.

What I don't like is Kenwright has brought in a yes man he knows he can control, who won't rock the boat about getting no money to spend. As far as Martinez himself goes, not even in my top five but as he's got the job he'll get my backing like most supporters

What's your top five then?

Klopp, Mourinho, Heynckes, Pereira & co?

Be realistic. Whether you like him or not Martinez is our best option.

I've seen virtually all Wigans home games since they got in the premier league (well I live there and its dead cheap!) and they played their best football under Martinez. I know it wasn't the most successful but he has a philosophy that football should be attractive, played on the ground if possible and at a high tempo. He never really had the players capable of doing all this at Wigan and individual mistakes cost them dearly.
At Everton he has vastly more talented players at his disposal and, given time and the boards and fans patience, will make Everton successful and above all great to watch. The School of Science will rise again!

I'm not happy but willing to give Martinez a chance. I honestly think when they gave us that 3 nil beating at home, that was his interview in disguise.

I think he's the best they could have done. He's highly intelligent and obviously determined to make it on a big stage. It should be very interesting.

Imagine if Everton had some heavy type like Allardyce or Warnock or summat?

I will judge him this time next year. Nothing to decide upon yet?

Pretty happy to be honest my main choices where peirira>Martinez>Tuchel. Considering I was really worried about getting a dour defensive git in as manager I am pretty happy. Wigan had bugger all home advantage the away surport often matched or beat the wigan surporters, plus a meek wage structure and bad training facilities and from what I can gather A crappy youth team. I am excited to see what he can do with finch farm and the renown everton academy.

After his Presser, I think we made the right choice. I'm buzzing.

Happy with the idea of him being here, given what we know (or feel we know) about his strengths as opposed to his weaknesses.

We'll get more attacking football than under Moyes, but a worse league placing...at least initially, because we'll see more of the whole squad than we did under Moyes and his emphasis on a core of 15 or so experienced players.

Nods in agreement ... and I'm happy with Martinez who will be like a breath of fresh air. Managers come and go but the club moves on.
