I think 24 hours is a tad too soon to pass judgement. Can we at least wait till we've played some footy games first.

Should this not go in the reaction thread?

I wonder what the poll would be if there was a 'Could be better, could be worse' option...

I'm not voting as I am neither happy nor unhappy with it.

A poll should at least try and give a suitable option to all would-be voters ffs.

Tough.
Martinez is here now to add some color to our world, so everything is either blue or white.. no grey areas. Your either happy or not...
People need to lighten up about their poll options.
If there is not box for your particular mood choice... don't tick one.
If you have no emotional attachment to the appointment until the end of the season... don't tick one.
If you don't want to opt for a choice in this thread when there is another thread without a poll... don't tick one.

Its a two option poll about whether your happy or not.. now please.. stop fkin whining.

This sort of thing... If you don't like... don't respond:

POINTLESS POLL! - support and believe!
CAN WE CLOSE THIS POLL MODS????? this is ridiculous

with bill still in charge, what going to change.

Our style of football and the amount of points that brings us, therefore the amount of revenue we bring in through prize money, ergo the quality of the squad. Everything hinges on our league position mate and that hinges on the quality of the manager.

Oh I know mate, you misunderstand, my point isn't that finishing where we do now will get us the finances to move forwards, its that if we get further down the league because our manager isn't as good as Moyes, we are going to be in genuine trouble because the money to cover the million pound a place drop for a bottom half finish simply isn't there.

I know some people think its okay to allow time to adapt to a philosophy - Rodgers style - and that in exchange for a better second season we can allow for a poor first, but the reality is that simply isn't the case, if Martinez spends the first season teaching players how to play a different way and it takes too long, it will be pointless because we will have to sell key players to cover the loss in revenue.

Something about Martinez though gives me a little belief that he can change us a bit at a time to what he wants us doing, whilst maintaining our position. We've got the squad, lets hope we've got the manager.

Happy because he seems a nice guy who conducts himself well and shows passion from the side. Looks ambitious too. Nervous because it is a tall order to keep on competing against richer clubs so there will be times we are off the pace and it will be important not to panic. But we have a really good first team so lets hope his reputation for being attack minded is true. I want to see these players let off the leash a bit more and really go out to boss teams home and away. Fingers crossed.

I'm happy, it's obvious that Martinez lives for football, you can tell he feels privileged to be here and can't wait to get to grips with his duties. He's the type of manager we need, somebody who's his own man, who wants to be involved in all aspects of the club, just like Moyes was.

Most would say their main concern is his defensive record, however he couldn't have wished to be left with a better setup to work with, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Heitinga and Hibbert,- all organised and well drilled defenders. Then the younger players coming through; Garbutt, Stones, Duffy will all have been carefully nurtured in the same way.

Martinez isn't daft, as an enthusiastic young manager he'll know that he can still learn a lot from what Moyes has left behind, as well as what our coaching staff have to offer and apply this to his own management style.

I'm confident he can find the right balance between free flowing passing football and a disciplined defence and be a success at our club.
