...I think it is easy to underestimate the challenge this manager had. In effect, it was easy to fall below the standard of his predecessor and really difficult to at least maintain it. I would say his start is at least what we could have expected had DM stayed. He has kept the momentum and we seem to be moving in the right direction.

+1. If we had played poorly and were sitting on 8 points, people would say "see, nobody could have done more with this set of player than Moyes was already doing." An theory that I would not have subscribed to. Moyes left us with a good set of players, but that doesn't guarantee anything.

I like him a lot as a man. He seems like a stand up guy

Management wise, my mind isn't made up yet. That being said, I'm not running for the lifeboat or anything. 15 points is a decent haul for this point in the season and he's had a mix of good and bad. He's only just got here though, to be fair

Thought we deserved 2 wins and a draw from the first 3 games (we were a bit sterile against The Baggies) and was reasonably content to see how Chelsea would go - they excelled themselves - with the proviso that I expected 2 wins against West Ham and Newcastle - duly achieved. I had said all we need to do to be on the right track is to be competitive at City, which, by-and-large we were for the first 45. A win today - as we know - and we're still very much "on track".

The first 8 games definitely threw up some "expected to win" games. Norwich was a point in the bag on last season but 2 were lost at home to West Brom. We only drew at Cardiff (but we didn't beat any of the relegated teams away last season (2 draws, 1 loss).

Chelsea was 3 gained, Newcastle 2 and today we could say even (having beaten all 3 relegated sides at home last season) and City a point dropped on last year.

So - compared to Moyes and last season - we picked up 12 last season (mid-table) to 15 this time round. What's not to like when you factor in the quality of the football as well. Given that we've been in the lead in 6 of the 8 games we're showing we can mount a serious challenge on the Top 4.

No, for numerous reasons, i'll list a few:
1. I'm still concerned that he got a team relegated last season.
2. He signed Kone.
3. Where the hell are our defenders for corners? Certainly noone on the posts!
4. Our defenders are a shambles, the same defense that's been so solid for years.
5. No place for Hibbert, not even on the bench.
6. He doesn't seem passionate (angry) enough, I just cannot picture him giving anyone a bollocking at half time or after a poor performance. I appreciate players need praise, but they also need to realise their mistakes.
7. He's still playing 4-5-1; I wanna see 2 strikers up front!
8. Where is Vellios?! I know he got a knock on international duty but apart from that he's been fit all season (to my knowledge).
9. We're drawing with teams that we "should" be beating, the likes of West Brom and Norwich!
10. I wanted Duncan Ferguson. I don't care what anyone else says or thinks, I, HAYEE, wanted Duncan Ferguson as our manager and noone will ever live up to that hope/expectation!

Well, this is going to end well

I won't be around for it though

*gives Hayee his last rights and then goes to make a cup of Ovaltine*
