The sad thing is people actually believe what these newspapers and 'experts' have to say. Sad thing is nearly anyone could do the jobs, I've always wondered though do they actually believe the dribble they write or are they told to follow the line and do as they're told.

If the site doesn't require you to pay to read it, its usually a case of the journalists doing what they can to get traffic. Some organisations/journalists are ethical, they will avoid defamation attempts because they are genuinely competent at their trade without having to rely on controversy. Instead they will seek out stories they have a passion for. These are the sort of journalists that are labelled as "football hipsters", especially when they write about the state of Colombian football to a British readership a la Rory Smith of The Times, but generally they are the better journalists.

Other organisations/journalists are the opposite. They will purposely try to agitate supporters because they know controversy loves company (me, you and others clicking on the link, sharing it, etc). They don't care about our opinions on it, as long as the hits are rising its a job done for Martin Samuel unfortunately.

Yeah good point never thought of it like that, its a shame that someone who puts thought and research into their articles usually doesn't get the praise an attention it deserves compared to something ridiculous that people will attack.

Fiorentina wasn't it?
have a feeling it was Udense? Anyway ,they weren't allowed to loan so many this season, and it has effected Watfords form. Another thing, whats the deal with Chelsea and Vitesse Arnhem? Something along the lines that they were told not to do too well in the CL, because it might upset Chelsea? Thats the sort of thing a decent journo should be looking at in detail.

We seem to be ruffling a fair few feathers this year and the established Sky 4 order don't like it. But there again,

When Moyes cleared off
all the pundits said the Toffees would drop
but we went to Wigan FC
and we got Bobby
and his brown shoes babe.

All teams have loaned players, or have arrangements with 'feeder' clubs to loan them players, but it is which loans you get in, and how you mange them that is the issue. Martinez knew who he wanted and went for them. Why would you get a player in on loan if they were not going to make you better? Long may it continue that Martinez gets people in on loan that improves us.

The mail's war on the poor and anything north of the M25 looks more desperate and sad by the day! I mean there's so many holes in the article you could drive a lorry load of smelly pickpocketing Romanian swan killing benefit scroungers through it,easily and still have room for Samuel's backside ! Ludicrously it was the National last week and they spent 3 days snidely ridiculing the whole thing and you could tell they where praying for equinine deaths so they could put the boot in (Cheltenham anybody) .Anyway Cameron and the Bullingdon nobs will be out on their arse soon so we can all get back to working on the side, benefit cheating, feckless drinking/smoking and having 50 kids, cheers and 4th it is.

Had a row on another board about the National and this point was made.

All those anti National people were left very disappointed when none of those noble old steeds were killed.

The sense of dismay was palpable when they were not given a stick with which to beat the big race.

The established "big clubs" hate us. Enjoy it, lads.

It means we're doing something right.

Long may it continue.
Fergie would always pat us on the head when we'd done well - i.e. rolled over for the 3pts - whereas when we were in his face taking points off them he couldn't string together a sentence that would get past the swear filter.

to be fair, he was like that for all teams except the ones he really disliked. :-)

Remember a good few years ago when a few of his players got sent off, think it was at Goodison? He was quoted as saying something like "all they've done is get out players f*cking sent off the pitch, and they've f*cking got away with it as well."

Mods pls no ban, I'm only quoting Ferguson, even if he is a bell.

We've upset the applecart and loaned successfully, while the likes of Arsenal and the ones across the park have done the exact same thing and it hasn't worked out for them. Every team gets the same opportunity so it's just hypocrisy.
