If anyone thought this would be an easy fix, they are deluded.

Allardyce took away any football and confidence, Unsy never did anything and Koeman was a disaster last season. Football is much better and often good to watch. Bad results will happen, we'll still end up in a decent enough position for the first full season, I truly never thought I'd see the day that an Everton manager would be given such a short time before fans were calling for him to go. (Caveated by Allardyce, who was a disgraceful appointment in the first place).

Get a grip, support them when they most need your support and give them half a chance to succeed.

Anyone that cannot see an improvement over last year, simply isn't looking and is being wilfully negative.

While we all dreamed of a miracle the truth is we are still in the mid table purgatory we first entered nigh on 3 decades ago , apart from a solitary 4th and several dangerous flirtations with relegation. Finishing best of the rest, ( formally 5th currently 7th), is still securely mid table.
Realistically transforming a firmly established mid table club into a member of the title chasing elite above us was always going to take more than half a season and at least a modicum of managerial stability.
With all the above firmly in mind I am of the opinion that he has done a decent job thus far, the evolving style of play is enjoyable and , in my opinion , is the one that will garner the success we crave.
In 12 months time after further strengthening no doubt , we will have far better idea of how successful (or not ) our current manager is likely to be.
Until then I am content to continue supporting this manager in his job.

Mind boggling that some people think our football has been very good to watch this season, I guess when you’ve had half a season of allardyce anything seems good in comparison.

I like him but the season has taken a very underwhelming turn.

Im of the opinion that the Derby crippled the confidence of team, which I can accept given the way it happened, but that was a long time ago and he should have got us back on track by now. I hoped the Burnley game would be a turning point for us but it just seems to have been an isolated bright spot in what has become a very poor run of form.

I wouldn't care about where in mid table we finish if we had a good cup run, but the way we went out the Carabao Cup to a dreadful team was extremely disappointing. If he does do well in the FA Cup, and here's hoping we win the thing, I honestly couldn't care if we finished 12th. However, this group of players is the 7th best team in the league imo and finishing any less than that is an under-achievement. Yes, we all like moaning at certain Everton players but there aren't many players playing for sides outside of the top 6 that would get in our team so it's incredibly frustrating that we can't go away to a really average side in Brighton, dominate them and get the three points.

I certainly think Silva deserves at least 1 more summer transfer window, the wheels would have to well and truly fall off for me to question his position before the summer but I don't want this season to just fizzle out, there's still a long way to go.

Some good, some bad.

More good than bad in my book, but understand that's opinion.

We're five months into a huge rebuild, however. And it's going to take a hell of a lot longer than that to get to where we want to be.

Heading into the second half of the season we're in a group of sides that ultimately are going to be scrapping for 7th because that's just what we are. Pretty inconsistent. But when we're good, we've shown real signs of promise.

Better things to come but you have to stick with the manager and see what he can do because if not, it's all bloody pointless.

In spells it has been. It's silly to deny that. Just as it's ludicrous to say that we've been ace all the time as well.

Unless he improves results the writing is on the wall for him, can't imagine anyone would be happy if we're in the same position next season at the half way point so he'd be under real pressure if they don't. It should be a fairly easy job to have us competing for best of the rest 7th position and we are although ATM we're making hard work of it. After a poor start we hit decent form and things started to look a lot better for October and November losing only 1 game away against Man Utd the we hit December and the Liverpool game which seemed to be a turning point for a downward spiral of form and whilst Pickford can be blamed for that result I think it's a bit much to hold him responsible for our overall form since, which has been pretty poor indeed both home and away with Burnley being the only bright spot since the Derby. So far Marco has been generally Dour (which I don't mind) and often looked clueless but it's not been bad enough to want him ran out the door yet so we move onto the next transfer window and the second half of this season and time will tell all as it always does in these situations.

If after this Jan transfer window, and a Summer one we were in the same position next season as we are now, then I would imagine the majority would agree he needed volleying out the door.

It just isn't though

If we are struggling, then yes. But a year's a long time.

We've had a bad run. The side look leggy. We didn't play well yesterday.

But again, had enough chances to win the game. The players need to take some responsibility. Why aren't they putting them away? We saw on Boxing Day that when we do put our chances away we're more than good enough.

I don't think myself that we'll be in the position we're in now next season Toff, it was just more in response to the lad who posted.
